Not dunking that post in water (because I don't know how to do that lol) nor actually reblogging it because I don't feel like dealing with online drama atm. Plus, op is one of those super edgy blogger who is on Tumblr to do le epic trolling so I really don't think it would be a constructive discussion anyway (we're talking about someone who has osama bin laden as their profile pic and 'orthodox-muslim jihad' as their blog description so like...you know...) but can I say that this is the exact type of shit that turned me off the anti-ai crowd?
Don't get me wrong: I am fundamentally anti-ai. I've never used AI and I'm not planning to start. I think its negative impact on both the environment and art is truly criminal. I also think that releasing this kind of technology with little to no limits and barriers in a world that's dealing with major crisis with both literacy and mental health is repulsive and will cause major issues in the near future. And despite all that, I genuinely can't support the way most people go at it when it comes to protesting AI.
I mean, if those people truly hate AI, you'd think they would be the first one to celebrate people realizing that their use of it was damaging or at the very least allow them spaces to work on that without facing scorn and mockery...But that's not very fun, is it? It's much funnier to repost their stuff with a one liner about how lame their addiction is. Doesn't matter if a ever growing amount of mental health experts AND people working with AI are raising concerns about the highly addictive nature of the technology, especially when it comes to vulnerable populations. It's a lame addiction and therefore not a serious problem. I'm sure the people laughing at it could never become addicted to anything lame, just like they could never fall victim to a scam or be betrayed by a loved one. Being cool and not cringe is truly so great...
Anyway, this is getting way too long already but my point is that at this point a lot of people are using their anti-AI stand as a way to find acceptable targets for mockery and, in more extreme cases bullying and anyone who tries to act like that's gonna have a positive impact on the grand state of things is just as delusional as anyone who is in love with some AI chatbot, maybe more.

Had yet another customer throw a full blown tantrum at me, including yelling and literally calling me an idiot and then a bit later she kinda calmed down and tried to act like it was just a big misunderstanding and got sooooo surprised Pikachu face when I refused her "apologies" (where she still insisted that I was in the wrong for daring to go on the lunch break I'm entitled to). She then tried to appeal to my emotions by being like 'I could be your grandmother 🥺' which REALLY pissed me off because my grandmother would have NEVER done something like that, don't you EVER compare yourself to her and my refusal to accept both her 'apologies' and her manipulation made her go back to being hysterical so she left after cursing my whole entire generation and talking about how rude today's youth is (she, once again,is the one called me an idiot to my face...), a whole fucking mess.

I guess there's something interesting on a meta level in me taking a break from writing a scene where a character hysterically yells at another character for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with her to go help a customer who almost immediately started hysterically yelling at me for reasons that had absolutely nothing to do with me, makes for accurate and vivid descriptions I guess
