Magic and Enchantment of The Silver Elves

Fairy (or Faerie) and Ferry are homonyms in as much as they have the same pronunciation but a different meaning. However, while their meaning is clearly distinct, Faerie or Fairy (spelled with a capital “F”) or in some cases Faërie, indicating a place or realm and a people (generally spelled with a lower case “f”) and Ferry denoting a boat for passage across water, we Silver Elves still sense a harmony between them.

Eucatastrophe tells us that while the Divine Magic very seldom intervenes in our lives that it is always possible, particularly for those who are ‘good’ or ‘decent’ folk. You can’t count on it but it can happen. Eucatastrophe is a reminder of the fact that there are greater powers in the Universe than most people perceive or even believe in, even when they say that they do. And that power ultimately responds to those who have done their best to live their lives in harmony with the Earth and each other. Of course, this happens more in stories than in ‘real life’ but that is what makes these tales so powerful. Frodo wavers at the last moment and Gollum steps in, not meaning to destroy the Ring but doing so. . . .

In reading WOOD ELVES: The Customs and Magic of the Sylvan Folk, you will find discussed 180 various wood elf tribes (a chapter is devoted to each) of which there are numerous member clans and also often families of various clans. Many of the tribes have multiple clans; for instance, the Hackberry tree related tribe called the Lotåcani has nearly 70 clans (and there are many tree tribes with even more clans). So, while we include the name of the tree or shrub, along with the tree tribe name and about its elven life, appearance, history, clan relationships and magic, we are unable to elaborate upon many of the clans for it would make this tome far too vast. However, the tribes and clans that we do illuminate are those who are best known among us. In Faerie and Elfin, diversity is a way of life. Nature loves diversity and so does the Divine Magic that created it all. And Faerie is ever evolving. New clans or tribes can pop up while others may disappear.     And also do take a look at one of the last chapters in the book that has a Wood Elf Script for you to use in writing your wood elf tribe and name and any messages that you may wish to use in your forest magic.
