Grian had forgotten what Scar was like in an attempt to forget about him entirely. He was afraid of seeing him again and even more scared talk to him. Grian had a completely different mask, new wings, and a new tail. He looks completely different than the last time Scar saw him. That's why they never realized it was their friend.

This one's important, cause it introduces a new design for Scar.

This was Scar's original mask, before Grian ran away. It triggers some memories for Grian; it makes his head hurt. He doesn't know why.

Scar cracks his mask and it's very much unusable now. Grian's like "Hey man it's okay we have another one for this specific reason." And Scar gets upset at him- He doesn't want to have a new one, he wants the one that's the only trace of his friend that he has left. Grian doesn't understand and asks why the mask was so special to him, but Scar can't tell him. He decides to wear the mask anyway.

Mumbo is also going to be a part of this, whenever I decide to reformat the story. He has omnipotent hands and he's an evil little guy in the beginning he tries killing them but he decides not to.

EXTRA:

Grian's is on his sleeve because of the phrase "don't wear your heart on your sleeve"- Literal, but it fits when you remember why they met again in the first place. Scar's is on his heart because he thinks too much from his heart than he does his actual head.

A bit of extra but the actual patches of like fabric missing on the actual cloaks have a reason too- Scar has one at the back of his poncho thingy where Grian's wings would be- It doesn't really correlate with anything that matters, but I still like the detail.

Grian's poncho has more damage done to it because he ran from Scar because he was afraid and in a panic, damage done to the head and the bottom of it where he could have tripped and ripped it also small character design choice of Grian's cloak.

Grian has strings on his hood- Makes it easier to hide. Scar's poncho is more open, ears poking out and is further up at his head. Grian's covers as much of his head as it can

I don't entirely know why I chose for their cloaks to have so much meaning but also it makes it easier to differentiate characters so A+ for me!

btw the lore of yurizard (yuri wizard) is basically: grian & mumbo , best friends since childhood. mumbo accidentally casts a spell on grian that ends up taking half of her soul away. the magic school decides Hey thats. pretty strong magic. come on in. and lets her enroll.

mumbo then meets scar , this ANNOYING and EVIL werewolf who is in like all but One of her classes. she's decided that One class is her favorite one.

its not like theyre competing for a spot or anything, its just that scar seems to be able to get everything Super easily and mumbo Cant. and it annoys her. scar likes to dig into it.

the one thing that mumbo has the leg up on against her is that SHE is good at the mechanical magic. scar is not. this makes her very happy.

one day their professor for their first period class pairs them together after he sees them butting heads. the Entire time , scar is cooperative and capable of anything mumbo asks her to. it freaks her out, but she tolerates it for the sake of getting this project Done.
