today I used the phrase "breasting boobily" in casual real life conversation and everyone was shocked asking how I came up with that and I had to explain it. ive been at the devil's sacrament so long that I forgot he wasn't god

Last night while I was shooting landscapes there was baby rabbits hanging near by with their mom. I could not resist to take some photos of them. As Iβm not an animal photographer with 10-25kβ¬ tele zooms and it was quite dark already, I had to shoot very slow shutter speed and tripod. I zoomed at one spot where they were hanging and set up interval timer: one pic in every 2 s. Β I had to make few gif beside cute photos. β¦super awwwwww!! Β <3 Β
I think is the best when things like that happen when you least expect it.Β

what is your LEAST favorite stitch?
I don't like counted work at fucking all. So: the cross stitch.
reading this as someone who does cross stitch but is scared of the other kinds of embroidery is like overhearing an incredibly tall and buff person say they have beef with Mr. Tom, the kitten that chills at the bookstore
FUCK Mr. Tom and his stupid little fluffy tail ok. And his little charted designs.
Okay, but this neglects the true villain of embroidery stitches: the French knot
Don't you dare malign my girl again
Ok the french knot is very useful but it is a BITCH to do it consistently
We talk about how this websiteβs hate mail game is insane, but this might just be a new level
"skill issue" made entirely from French knots is a next level roast. no coming back from that one. damn
It is so ridiculously easy to gain a reputation for being competent by just reading signs.
This is not metaphorical. I mean actual, literal pieces of paper/plastic/metal/whatever explicitly erected to inform the public.
βHow did you know this was the right trail?β I read the sign.
βWow, how did you know what that flower is?β Thereβs a SIGN.
βHow did you know we needed to use the side door?β THERE IS A SIGN POSTED ON THE FRONT DOOR.
Justβ¦why are we having such different experiences of the world? People can read. I KNOW they can read. Thereβs nothing wrong with their vision.
Just. READ. THE. GOD. DAMN. SIGN.

Clinical, Histopathological and Genetic Features of a Cutaneous Adnexal Polycystic Syndrome in Lykoi Cats: A Prospective Study of 10 Cases
Objectives
The Lykoi is a recently recognised feline breed with a unique coat phenotype caused by six variants of the Hairless (HR) gene. A specific severe cutaneous comedonal syndrome has been reported in this breed. The aim of the study was to carry out a clinical, histopathological and genetic characterisation of this syndrome.
Methods
Prospective data collection included clinical evaluation, skin biopsies for histopathology, trichoscopic examination of hair shafts, blood sampling for haematology and biochemistry, cutaneous swabs for bacteriological culture, and buccal swabs for DNA extraction and genotyping.
Results
In total, 11 privately owned Lykoi cats were enrolled, including those with varying degrees of skin involvement and one healthy cat. Cats were aged 1.5β7 years at the time of diagnosis. Clinical presentation was characterised by papular lesions and comedones, ranging from severe generalised forms (nβ=β6/10) to moderate regional forms (nβ=β2/10) and to mild scattered forms (nβ=β2/10). Histopathological lesions from skin biopsies revealed infundibular follicular cysts (nβ=β9/10), sebaceous gland (duct) cysts (nβ=β10/10) and sweat gland cysts (nβ=β5/10). Genetic analysis identified 5/6 described HR variants among the 10 affected Lykoi and the control Lykoi.
Conclusions and Relevance
This cutaneous syndrome shows a variable clinical severity that is not fully explained by genotype alone. The consistent presence of cysts from all three adnexal structures, even in clinically unaffected skin, supports the recognition of a novel skin condition, which we propose to name cutaneous adnexal polycystic syndrome (CAPS) in Lykoi cats. Further research is needed to elucidate its pathogenesis.
>>[Read Full Study]<<
I strongly encourage you to read the full study, itβs extremely interesting - although be warned, it does have visuals.
Iβve talked about the Lykoi breed before and Iβm glad theyβre finally getting more attention, I hope further research is done into CAPS.
Something I thought was interesting was how the asymptomatic Lykoi had an isolated sebaceous duct cyst, she is 3y at the time the sample was collected and the most common age of symptom onset appears to be 3.5y - 4y.
Will she still be subclinical a year from the study?
Humans are animals and most of our enclosures are wildly inappropriate for our needs as a species.
my publisher: Good morning! Huh did you advertise for the pre-sale yesterday? Because we launched twelve hours ago and we already made sales!

publisher: And what is your marketing strategy on... tumblr?
me: idk, i shitpost at 2am?
publisher: .....and it works?
me: depends on what the gays find funny at that point in time.
publisher: Could I have a link to your tumblr?
me: .......absolutely not.

update!
publisher: I've been looking into tumblr, have you thought of using Blaze to promote your book?
me: NO
publisher: But it seems like an efficient way to get this in front of more eyes-
me: people on tumblr hate Blaze.
publisher: There is no algorithm and you can't pay to promote a post? I don't understand how anyone advertises anything on tumblr.
me: That's the best part. They don't. They can't.
(trying to make him understand that we do not control the attention. We just have to show something shiny and gay enough and if people are interested, they'll reblog.)

I think it's really important to point out one of the major flaws in that highway analogy:
Eminent domain requires payment.
The government cannot come in and merely seize your land under eminent domain and pay you nothing. There is a process & they have to pay you market value for your land and the buildings on it. A couple of my former clients went through this about 15 years ago when the 202 Bypass went through in Montgomery & Bucks County in Pennsylvania. Their houses and land were taken via eminent domain so that the highway could be built, but, I need to say this again: they were paid.
They were paid and there was a process in which they were informed ahead of time. They didn't just drive home one day and find out their home had been snatched, too bad, so sad, no money for you, you should have put your house in a bank vault.
Just taking someone's shit like that without compensation has a name, and it's not eminent domain or anything like it:
It's fucking theft.
(I'm not interested in hearing the same tired shit about how copyright is inherently bad and only protects corporations, because as someone who deals with protecting my livelihood from scammers and scrapers via copyright every goddamned day, this isn't a fun mental exercise/philosophical debate for me, and you're absolutely wrong. Fucking save it for someone ignorant enough and with time to waste on that.)
i wish you could laugh react eBay listings. that's not worth $250. you fucking asshole. lmao
you should also be able to do this to job listings

People who drink coffee: why did you start?
I don't drink coffee and I've never wanted to, but that's obviously ~not normal~, so I'm curious why most people do start drinking it.
Additional question: People who don't drink coffee, why?
For me, it's because, as a child, I was incredibly cranky, and as soon as caffeine-free Coke was introduced, Mom had me start drinking that, and, hey, I got a lot less crabby, so that made me want to avoid caffeine. I also never really cared for the smell of coffee, either, so had absolutely no interest in drinking even decaf.
(and yes I am very aware that "it makes me feel better" and "love the way it smells" are top answers in why people do drink it XD)
I started drinking coffee as a child to keep warm in winter
I occasionally have coffee mostly just because its often available. But I don't usually drink it because the acid upsets my tummy. I do better with tea.
When I was growing up, my mother made us hot tea when we were sick. I associated hot tea with comfort and staying home from school. Its still comforting and calming.
I honestly don't remember why. I always snuck or wheedled sips of my parents' coffees from the time I was small. When I was 12, I was deemed "old enough" to have my own (I was taller than my mom by then, so the argument that I wasn't big enough didn't work), and never went back.
As for why I continue? If I don't make with the caffeine, the brain doesn't make with the thinking and the doing of things, and I am frequently an extremely cranky person when I wake up. The coffee gives me the brain enough to not bite people I like for the heinous crime of existing in my general direction, that Awake and Caffeinated Me absolutely does not want to do.
There's also a very strong likelihood that I am Wildly Undiagnosed ADHD and self-medicating via caffeine drip, so there's also that.
Most annoying online emotion is "I have a funny personal anacdote to add to this but it doxxes like all of my personal information"

just in case anyone forgot how wildly colorful Georgian interiors could be, even among the working class to the wealthy:
and EVEN WHEN things were more muted/neutral, the neutrality was OFFSET by ACCENT COLORS and HIGH CONTRAST between the wood tones and everything ELSE
ALSO AMERICAN COLONIAL INTERIORS POPPED OFF, Y'ALL (IN TERMS OF COLOR/COZINESS)
PEOPLE USED WHITEWASH AND COLORFUL TRIM OR EVEN JUST COLORFUL FURNITURE IF THEY COULD AFFORD TO DO SO
AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON FRENCH AND BRITISH AND AMERICAN WALLPAPERS
"ELIZABETH" YOU CRY, "WHY ARE YOU BEING SO EXTRA THIS MORNING?! IT'S MONDAY"
Because, my friend, my war on GREIGE will NEVER end.
Historic interiors were filled with LIFE and LIGHT and COLOR. ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.
Part of the reason we don't see a lot of textile art is because, frankly, textiles tend to degrade over time - especially ones that had utility! And yes, pigments and weaving and dying all boosted the expense of things, when we were finally reliably block-printing fabrics and broad reams of paper, it was no longer just the wealthy who could afford pretty patterns!
In the Americas, a far wider variety of pigments also became available because of the abundance of... well, a shitton of flora and minerals, some of which weren't as common in Europe.
WHY THE HIGHLIGHTER COLORS? you ask.
CANDLES.
Those colors reflect candlelight and natural sunlight REALLY WELL.
Humans LOVE bright colors, it's NOT just a thing for kids. We live in a brilliant, vibrant, multifaceted world. We ALWAYS have.
(STOP MAKING YOUR HISTORIC SIMS 4 BUILDS BE BLAND. STOP IT.)
On the subject of Colonial America: don't forget, even if you couldn't afford wallpaper, wall stenciling might still be in reach!
(If ever you have the opportunity to visit the Stencil House at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont (pictured above at 3, 4, and 5), I highly recommend.)
And that's before you get into American painted murals:
Embrace the decorative arts, folks!
