The Great Commission is a Great Commandment

6 years ago, someone fearlessly preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to me. This person could’ve been a “good Christian,” who went to church every Sunday. This person could’ve simply told me that God loves me. This person could’ve just invited me to their church, but no. They told me the most outrageous story that takes true faith to believe. They told me:

God sent His only Son, Jesus, into the earth, through the womb of a virgin. He lived the life we all should live and died the death we all deserve. He rose 3 days later, conquering death and hell. If you believe this, you will have ever lasting life.. So, do you believe?

That was it. The simple Gospel. No promises of wealth or good fortune. Just the simple plan of salvation. And I thank God that I believe. Now the question is, do you? And if you truly do, why haven’t you told someone else? If you have, amen, continue. Don’t just go to church every Sunday, don’t just tell people that God loves them, and don’t simply invite them to your church... do the great commission. Preach the Gospel.
