In 1987, KNBC reporter David Horowitz was in the middle of a live broadcast when Gary Stollman walked onto the set, pressed what appeared to be a .45-caliber handgun into his back, and forced him to read a message on live television.

Viewers only saw about these 28 seconds before KNBC cut the feed to black.

The station refused to air the rest of what Stollman wanted read.

The message claimed the CIA, UFOs, and alien forces were secretly manipulating events.

But that's not all.

Stollman also claimed his father, former KNBC health reporter Max Stollman, had been replaced by a clone created by the CIA and aliens.

He even alleged that a KNBC news anchor was a clone. Those claims have never been substantiated.

When Horowitz finished reading the statement, Stollman calmly placed the weapon on the desk and said:

"Thank you very much, David. I couldn't hurt anyone with this BB gun."

The gun turned out to be a realistic toy replica, and Stollman surrendered without anyone being injured.

Nearly 40 years later, it's still one of the strangest moments ever captured on live American television.

1. THESE PASSAGES DESTROY THE “ISRAEL = ALWAYS GOD’S CHOSEN NATION” ASSUMPTION

Dispensationalism requires:

• ethnic Israel = eternally God’s covenant people

• the Church = a parenthesis

• Israel’s future restoration = the center of prophecy

But Jesus and John the Baptist say things that make that impossible.

MATTHEW 3 — JOHN THE BAPTIST’S IDENTITY BOMB

John says:

• “God can raise children to Abraham from stones.”

• “The axe is already at the root of the trees.”

• “Every tree not bearing fruit is cut down.”

These statements:

• deny automatic covenant status based on ethnicity

• declare imminent judgment on Israel

• redefine “children of Abraham” based on repentance, not bloodline

This is fatal to dispensationalism’s ethnic‑Israel framework.

JOHN 8 — JESUS REJECTS ETHNIC DESCENT AS COVENANT IDENTITY

Jesus tells the Judeans:

• “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.”

• “You are of your father the devil.”

This:

• denies that physical descent = covenant membership

• asserts that unbelieving Israel is spiritually non‑Israel

• contradicts the dispensational claim that Israel remains God’s chosen people regardless of belief

Dispensationalism cannot quote this without undermining its entire system.

2. THESE PASSAGES PRESENT ISRAEL UNDER JUDGMENT — NOT FUTURE RESTORATION

Dispensationalism needs:

• Israel’s rejection of Jesus to be temporary

• Israel’s national future to be glorious

• prophecy to revolve around Israel’s return to covenant blessing

But Jesus and John say the opposite.

Matthew 23 — Jesus’ covenant lawsuit

This chapter is a legal indictment:

• “Woe to you…” repeated seven times

• “Your house is left to you desolate.”

• “All these things will come upon this generation.”

This is not “temporary discipline.”

It is covenant termination.

Dispensationalism cannot quote Matthew 23 because:

• it frames Israel as the persecutor, not the victim

• it predicts destruction, not restoration

• it identifies the generation of Jesus’ day as the target of judgment

This contradicts their eschatology at every point.

3. THESE PASSAGES PLACE THE KINGDOM IN THE PRESENT, NOT THE FUTURE

Dispensationalism requires:

• the Kingdom = future

• the Kingdom = earthly, political, Jewish

• Jesus offered the Kingdom but Israel rejected it

But Matthew 3 and John 8 show:

• the Kingdom is already “at hand”

• judgment is imminent

• covenant identity is already being redefined

If the Kingdom is present, the dispensational timeline collapses.

4. THESE PASSAGES MAKE THE CHURCH THE TRUE HEIRS OF ABRAHAM

Dispensationalism insists:

• Israel and the Church are separate

• Israel inherits earthly promises

• the Church inherits spiritual promises

But Jesus and John teach:

• true children of Abraham = those who believe

• unbelieving Israel = cut off

• covenant identity = faith, not ethnicity

This is Pauline theology before Paul:

• Matthew 3 → Romans 9

• Matthew 23 → Romans 11

• John 8 → Galatians 3

Dispensationalists avoid these passages because they show Jesus teaching the same covenant theology Paul teaches — which dispensationalists claim Paul invented.

5. THESE PASSAGES UNDERMINE THE “PARENTHESIS CHURCH” DOCTRINE

Dispensationalism claims:

• Jesus preached only to Israel

• Jesus did not reveal Church doctrine

• the Church begins in Acts 2

But Matthew 3, 23, and John 8:

• redefine covenant identity

• announce judgment on unbelieving Israel

• establish faith‑based membership

• describe spiritual sonship

These are Church doctrines taught by Jesus.

If Jesus taught Church theology, dispensationalism collapses.

6. THESE PASSAGES CONTRADICT THE DISPENSATIONAL READING OF PROPHECY

Dispensationalism needs:

• Israel’s future restoration

• a rebuilt temple

• renewed sacrifices

• national repentance at the end of the age

But Jesus and John:

• declare Israel’s leadership corrupt

• announce imminent destruction

• redefine Abrahamic descent

• place covenant identity in faith alone

These passages make Israel’s future restoration impossible unless Israel repents — which dispensationalism claims will happen after Jesus returns, not before.

7. THESE PASSAGES EXPOSE THE MORAL PROBLEM IN DISPENSATIONALISM

Dispensationalism often treats:

• Israel’s unbelief as irrelevant

• Israel’s rejection of Jesus as temporary

• Israel’s covenant status as unconditional

But Jesus and John:

• condemn unbelief

• declare judgment

• deny covenant status to the unfaithful

Dispensationalism cannot quote these passages without admitting:

• covenant membership is conditional

• unbelieving Israel is not “God’s chosen people”

• faith, not ethnicity, determines identity

This is the exact opposite of their system.

THE REAL REASON THESE PASSAGES ARE AVOIDED

These chapters:

• redefine Israel

• redefine covenant membership

• redefine Abrahamic descent

• redefine the Kingdom

• announce judgment

• deny ethnic privilege

• establish faith as the sole criterion

Dispensationalism cannot survive these teachings.

So dispensationalists:

• quote Paul selectively

• quote Old Testament prophecy selectively

• quote Revelation selectively

• but almost never quote Jesus or John the Baptist on Israel’s identity

Because Jesus and John contradict their system at its foundation.
