Okay so Iâve decided to do a little mini series that will be 8 chapters long. It will end next Sunday (so one day youâll get 2 installments :D). Basically, it follows Regina on different stages in her life on her birthday. I hope you guys like it!
âHappy Birthday sweetie.â
Regina was staring at her own horse. She has loved him the second she saw him. His big brown eyes matched her own as he was staring her down. Regina had ridden him before and the horse took a liking to her. His previous owner had not been able to tame him, but Regina knew how to tame this horse. All he wanted was an apple, and Regina loves apples, she even has a tree that sheâs been growing since she was twelve. Two summers ago, when she was fourteen, the tree began to produce its first fruit. Not the best sheâs ever tasted, but soon after the small, red apples grew larger and sweeter and not as bitter. Her mother hated that Father let her grow a tree.
âWorking in the fields is for peasants Regina. Youâre a royal. This is not your job.â
Regina reached inside her bag to retrieve an apple. The horse complied quickly and tickled her hand with his mouth. She giggled and hugged her father thanking him for the beautiful horse.
âWhat shall you name him?â
The question was not from her father, but of a stranger she had never seen before. He looked kind and was not that much older than her. His eyes were a bright crystal blue and when he looked at her she felt a spark in her soul she never felt before. His smile radiated as he went to brush the horseâs hair with the brush. Regina quickly figured out that this must be the stable boy that would help her take care of her horse.
