Lucifer The King of Hell

The light from the sunrise passed through the curtains of the Morningstar's Palace as if the building itself was built in Heaven.

Before the past decade, Lilith loved waking up with the light and take a cup of tea in the balcony as she saw how the Pride Ring started the day. The streets filling up with sinners going to their jobs. The sounds of people talking. It was a reminder of the small peace she had manage to achieve thanks to her reign.

Lilith hadn't done that recently.

Ever since she had moved back to the Hotel, there had not been a resting time to just take a cup of tea and stare at the pacific lives she wishes to protect.

... Because the latest times had not been pacific at all.

First, there was an Overlord War. Then, an announcement that the exterminations are back.

And so, Lilith had prepared for war. Both of the times.

She had prepared to, and yet her input had been useless.

Had she managed to protect anyone?

Overlords had their souls taken. Lute had almost killed her. The only reason that the exterminations were over was only because Michael grew bored of it. Or maybe it was because he had listened to his inner voice of reason. Lilith didn't knew that, and in her anger, chose to believe the first option.

She shouldn't have trusted angels.

Lilith swirled the cup of wine half-drank that sat in the balcony table where she just woke up. The last remnants of the bottle laid smashed on the floor, as she had probably bumped into it in her sleep without realizing and fell. Goodbye, red wine reserve of 1733, you will be missed.

Some more bottles had suffered a similar fate, and the others filled the rest of the tea table until you couldn't see the surface anymore.

As she started to sit upright, she saw that she had slept over of her planning notebooks. Lilith always used those for her queenly duties, taking notes on what needs to be done, ideas for it, etc.

In the page it was scribbled "What to do if the exterminations are back" in a writting that almost didn't look like herself. At first the ideas were rational. Things like "Hold a meeting in Heaven" or "Strike a deal for peace" were the first written. Then it started to spiral into things like "Have a guardian duck protect Hell" and subsequently "Teach a bunch of ducks how to attack angels on sight" and it ended up in blurred words not even Lilith herself understood what it meant.

It was all a mess, but one idea, mixing among others, struck her. "Ban all angels from taking a step in the Rings of Hell." It was one idea among others, but it was like her worries had been lifted suddenly.

Drastic measures needs to be taken in dire times.

She grabbed the half-drank cup of wine, stood up and looked at the streets from the balcony. Even after sunrise, the streets were quiet. Most sinners didn't come out of their homes if they could help it. Fear made them stay inside.

Lilith hated this sight.

She took a small sip of the wine. The bitter taste woke her up. She gathered purple magic in her hand, and a golden scroll appeared before her. With a white and red feather pen, she started to write.

"May a single angel step foot on the Seven Rings without explicit permission, it shall be taken as a declaration of war, and Hell shall respond in consequence."

As soon as she finished writting, the scroll curled into itself and a silent pulse covered all of the Pride Ring. The law had been made.

Lilith turned the cup upside down and stared at how the rest of the red wine fell to the Pride Ring.
