6 moves that will strengthen your core

Our guest blogger Trystenne Burey demonstrates moves that will strengthen your core in one neat circuit. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

40 bicycle crunches

20 toe touches

40 mountain climbers

60 regular sit ups

1 minute plank (elbow plank works too)

1 minute side plank on both sides

Repeat one more time.

Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin - Like Psycho, this classic horror novel was successfully adapted for film. It has also been slated for an upcoming TV miniseries. 

The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris - Ed Gein, a real-life serial killer, served as inspiration for Norman Bates and The Silence of the Lambs‘ pursued murderer, Buffalo Bill.

Zombie by Joyce Carol Oates - If you watch Bates Motel because you’re interested in what creates a serial killer, then this book is for you. Joyce Carol Oates deftly explores the topic with her psychotic protagonist. 

If you like The Walking Dead, then read (in addition to the graphic novels, obvs):

Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick - The story of a 17-year-old girl’s fight to survive after a disaster kills most people and causes others to either become zombies or gain strange powers.

The Serpent and the Rainbow by Wade Davis - Real zombies?!

Zone One by Colson Whitehead - Another take on the zombie apocalypse trope. This book follows a member of a civilian team sent to resettle Manhattan after a zombie plague.

It’s very easy to respect people who are different from you. Maybe you missed this part?

But yeah, people always wanna call me something else. Only people allowed to call me Tee are my close friends and family (and only because they can actually properly pronounce my name).

Tiara, Tashirah, Tyshira, Shakira, Taco, Tanira, Tanesha, Teehara, Tee-Tee, Taco...none of which are my name. 

A village dog in Africa walked at the edge of a hunting camp when she heard a pitiful cry.

A hyena had fallen into a hunters trap, and was crying and struggling against its bindings when it saw the dog.

“Friend.” Smiled the hyena. “Free me from this trap, if you please.”

“And why?” Asked the dog.

“If you release me, I will teach you how to laugh like me.” Grinned the hyena. And the dog agreed.

Laughter is a hard song for a dog to learn. Her cry became strange and wild, and the music stuck in her throat such that she forgot all other sounds of barking. But the clever dog used the music well.
