i may hardly try

and still do better

than ai.

i'm human,

that’s why.

she walked.

i chose not to drive.

i wore a skirt and a blouse all lacey.

she dressed grunge with her hair in her eye.

she doesn’t want to order in case she needs that money later.

i check my wallet to see i still have it. i tell her today’s the day, and i pay.

she tells me she’s trying to write a book. i tell her i have, but don’t know where to go from here.

i’ll meet my older self for lunch later, and she’ll say she figured it all out.
