we all went

through the flames -

every trace of all that

was - is proof:

no one believes…

i feared time:

it struck me, noble.

we must not - may not - take,

death cannot believe - there is

hope. go out, into the dark -

the blackest things hold

silent instinct - this was

only a prelude

be convinced.

the one thing I have, if we must be vampire - in the end, then she shall not go into that unknown land alone ***

trouble found all things

i want your permission to think with intense gravity - i don't quite see an honest disguise this night, if it be anything in which faith is concerned *** come, in secret

here, she had impulsive understanding *** make her happy and fly

i promise to discuss precious time, as if months of summer came u n

done *** i took a growing interest in everything

--

and now -

tell me about the

death of any open mind

a thousand times you

have taken

a typewritten hurryaway

and i sit here

with doubt

pleasure -

because you are

That Much,

i shall show you…

a madman

i would not say

a word -

only, the symptoms

—

blood had fallen

the bitter experience of

a heart

still beating

there was no need

for an instant - to wear

peace…

the etiquette of death spoke

fact was waiting

in the breakfast-room

found:

white as ivory -

the asylum looked

eager

in the night

so, here it is:

Death, not Life

the stones

took surprise and gladness

for granted

***

i was absorbed in that wonderful monster

—

sleep in peace

the day, helpless -

(finally)

the world expected

another,

transfusion of opportunity

***

i have a dim half-remembrance

—

we went along,

in dimly lit rays -

found them… dead

the flowers slow

the little wounds

a word, bent

and still breathing

***

i can be

present

—

wait

with me

unseen

sorrow, sweet -

no taint of death

throw aside

the mystery

and accept the

stake

***

ask him what it was

—

i slept

without dreaming, the edge

of my brain: a window

into the resolute

night. i dared to rage

and a calm stole

over me

***

and then, i started screaming

—

i could not recollect | the moment that

shone like pearls | and some dead

-ly fear

i awoke in my own bed | fearless

and without religion

***

so my friend, you are tired
