CHEAP & EASY: FRESH SPRING ROLLS
I was able to grab all the ingredients for these fresh spring rolls at Berkeley Bowl for about $5, with the most expensive item being the rice paper wraps at $1.99.
You’ll Need: Large Rice Paper Wraps Red Leaf Lettuce Cilantro Red Cabbage Carrots Avocado (and whatever other raw veggies you’d prefer)
Prep your vegetables by cutting everything julienne style. Take a large plate and put water it in. Place a rice paper wraps in the water until it becomes malleable, fill it with veggies, and wrap like a burrito.
BEAT END OF SUMMER HEAT WITH HOMEMADE ICED SUN-TEA
Now that summer is coming to an end, it’s decided to go out with a bang with an unusual heatwave here in the Bay Area. Here’s an easy way to cool down and refresh yourself.
Ingredients: 16 oz. of water (preferably in a glass container) 1 green tea bag 1 peach 1 lemon 1 inch of ginger agave nectar (sweetened to your liking)
Cut the lemon, ginger, and peach and put hem into the container with the tea bag and agave nectar. Then, find a sunny spot outside to leave the container while the tea sun steeps for about 2-3 hours. Once done, you can chill it in the refrigerator or pour over ice before drinking.
