Hello, I am a beginner GK painter and figured I would document my first ever attempt at assembling a model. Because this is my very first attempt I will be referencing the common assembly process and painting techniques from Leona's Workshop aswell as Plum Workshop.

Starting off before I started taking pictures:
When the kit first came in I cut off all of the tabs and carefully sanded down any imperfections starting with high grit sandpaper and smoothing with finer grit to create a seamless look.
After that I scrubbed each piece with a gentle toothbrush and dawn dish soap in warm water, making sure to carefully dry the holes with a paper towel before waiting a few days for it to fully air dry. I know I should've used a degreaser like Purple Power Simple Green, or I've also heard OxiClean works, but after doing some research I figured Dawn works just as well as long as I scrub thoroughly.
For those wondering: degreaser is important to remove the mold release used to free the resin from the cast, without removing it you will have paint stripping which will ruin your project and you will most likely have to start over
Using a hand drill and the pin holes in the kit for guidance I drilled bigger gauge holes to pin the parts together with brass tubes I bought from Hobby Lobby, cutting sections to size with a pair of average joe pliers. I do have an expensive, high quality Dremel tool but I felt it was a little too aggressive for me for now so I accepted the hand sores.
For her hair bows I drilled straight through, making her hair secured to her head with one rod.
I will admit that I did start priming before properly test fitting, but I don't really think that matters aside from the gaps I found. As a beginner I am too afraid of using the two part Apoxie to do anything about them anyway due to the way the primer is reacting to the Apoxie on the hair so I'm going in hoping with some good sanding and the black gloss material of her clothes they will end up less noticeable.
To prime the parts I used Krylon Fusion All-In-One satin primer in very thin layers, waiting a day between each layer. My sources suggested several different options but I'm using this spray because it is what my local store had in stock.

I plan to use a mix of airbrushing, Prisma color pencils, hand painting and pastels.
