So I'm at it again!

After finishing up my time in LONDON, I'm already onto my next Wicked adventure... (** I have quite a few pictures and adventures to share from my last few weeks in London, so look out for those on my LONDON blog).  

First few weeks on tour!!!

These past few weeks have been extremely busy and VERY exciting!!!  I still have a few more Italy photo posts to put up but I thought I'd post some current photo's. 

I'm into my 2nd official week of touring & it's going really well.  The cast & crew are just an incredible group of people & I couldn't be luckier to have been put with them.

So, here is the first post of my Italy vacation.  First of MANY to come!

So incredibly excited, humbled, anxious, & blessed to finally announce that I will be playing Elphaba on the 2nd National Tour of "Wicked"!  I have been a company member, on and off, with "Wicked" for almost 7 years now & playing Elphaba has been a dream of mine since I heard the cast album 10 years ago.  I started as a dancer swing in the show & can't even begin to explain how honored I am to step into a role that so many amazing women have played. 

I will be officially joining the company April 3rd, 2013 - my first performance :)  I will be replacing the wonderful, rockstar Christine Dwyer & re-joining my former Chicago company members on tour (only a few originals left).  And I'm SO excited to meet and work with Hayley Podschun (my new Glinda!) who I know will be awesome!

I can't wait to take you all on this journey & show you the incredible adventures that are in store for me on tour of the US :)  Please keep in touch & I will let you know when my website is up and running! 

Thank you again for all of your support!  It really means so much to me!!

Okay....  so it's been awhile...

My computer failed me in Seoul & with all the craziness of coming home, taking care of my new puppy, rejoining the Bway company for a few weeks, all the Holiday celebrations, & life - I have not posted anything. 

Firstly, I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch. 

Secondly, I PROMISE, there is SO MUCH MORE TO COME!!  I have an incredible year coming up!  And I can't wait to tell you guys all about it.  I'm so excited to tell you, but you'll just have to wait a little bit longer :)

Coming up in my next post, I will be updating you on ALL that has been going on.  From the end of Seoul, to my quick stint back on Bway, then what's going on with me now.

Hi angelicandiva!  Thanks for writing!  And I'm so glad you enjoyed looking at my adventures in Korea!  It was an amazing experience & I had a lot of fun. 

To answer a few of your questions...  Being in musical theater is equally hard as it is rewarding.  You need a tough exterior to survive but when you are lucky enough to be in a show, it makes all the struggles worth it.  You don't need a degree necessarily to be a part of a cast, but going to school can be really helpful.  You learn a lot about yourself & the business & it helps shape you for the real world.  I only went to college for a year and a half, but everyone's path is different.  You do have to audition to be in any show, whether you are going in as a principal or an ensemble member.  We also rehearse often.  It keeps the company up to date with new people & understudies who don't get to go on that much.  As for my other skills, I'd like to think I have a few good ones.  I LOVE to cook.  And I've just started using my sewing machine again.  I like to try everything at least once :)

So, I'm back home from Seoul & totally loving life...

Just to apologize to anyone who follows my blog...  I stopped posting because I unfortunately spilled Chilsing (Korean Sprite) all over my laptop in Korea & wasn't able to post pics at the end of my stay. 

I may not be in Korea anymore, but I've decided to continue my blog.  I have more pics to post from the end of my trip in Seoul & of course, life continues back here in Brooklyn, NY. 

I'm so happy and honored to rejoin the NY Company of Wicked.  I will be filling in for the fabulous Donna Vivino for 5 weeks (until November 18th).  I will have dates that I will be on coming up & will post them as soon as they are confirmed. 

On another note, you will be seeing some pics soon of my new puppy, Eva!  My boyfriend surprised me with her at the airport - after my 25 hour travel day(s).  She is a Catahoula Leopard Dog, a breed we have been researching for quite some time, and she is just perfect!  I've only known her a week now & I'm already so in love!  She is definitely a puppy, so she is taking up quite a bit of my time, but it's so worth it!  She had her first day of school yesterday with our new trainer & she did so well.  We are going to teach her how to behave like a lady cause she is going to be quite big :) 

Also, I've finally started designing my website, which will be up and running very soon.  I will definitely let you all know when it is getting ready to launch, so keep an eye out!

Changdeokgung Palace

The Changdeokgung Palace, literally meaning "Palace of Prospering Virtue", is one of the 5 Grand Palaces built in Seoul by the Kings of the Joseon Dynasty.  Changdeokgung was the second palace built after Gyeongbokgung Palace which was established in 1395 as a primary palace. This Palace was absolutely beautiful!  Rion and I went there mostly to see the Secret Garden on the grounds, but unfortunately, as you can tell by my first photo, it was closed because of a wild boar :(   **I hope to get there before I leave Seoul!

Anyways, we decided to make the best of it and walk the grounds on our own.  Once we got in, we heard an English speaking tour and followed them around to hear the tour guides information.  That worked for the first 20 minutes & then we decided to go off on our own.  The day was very very hot so we were trying to find cool areas.  This Palace is absolutely massive.  And I can't imagine how big it was when it was first built.  Changdeokgung Palace was heavily damaged during the Japanese occupation of Korea & now only 30% of the structures still stand. 

Injeongjeon Hall (shown in the last photo) is considered a National Treasure.  Major state affairs including the coronation of a new king would be held here.  Injeongjeon has quite a history, first built in 1405, it had to be rebuilt in 1610 after being burned down during the 1592 Japanese invasion.  After being destroyed by another fire, it was rebuilt for a third time in 1804.

**  The large light bulbs held inside this building are original Edison bulbs!!

Part 2 - Seoul Tower

I have definitely been a procrastinator lately, considering I haven't posted anything in about 3 weeks :(  But here is part 2 of the Seoul Tower! 

This post is mostly of the amazing meal my boyfriend and I had at the top of the Seoul Tower.  The French Restaurant, The N Grill, is very much like the Marriott Marquis in NYC, because it slowly revolves while you sit, eat, & enjoy the 360 degree view of Seoul.

As of Monday, I have 5 weeks left in Seoul & then it's back to NYC!  I have also FINALLY figured out my video, so I will be posting video responses & video adventures very soon!  Also, I'm going to be better about posting more photo's, so expect more than 1 post a week!!!!
