“An Oppressed People Is Always Right” (1976)
Adharma is Impoluto's fourth album and the first conceived through remote collaboration, recorded separately by @mariobrandabar in Paraná, Brazil, and Theo Szczepanski in Sardinia, Italy, during 2022.
Departing from the free-form, single-take approach of the previous recordings, Adharma is built through deliberate construction. Noise, tension and silence are arranged with calculated precision.
Adharma is the Sanskrit antonym of dharma. It means "that which is not in accord with the dharma". Connotations include betrayal, discord, disharmony, unnaturalness, wrongness, evil, immorality, unrighteousness, wickedness, and vice.

On this day, 8 August 1879, Emiliano Zapata, revolutionary and leading figure of the peasant army which helped overthrow Porfirio Diaz in the 1910 Mexican revolution, was born. Of Nahua and Spanish descent, Zapata organised alongside local Indigenous communities to fight against land seizures by wealthy hacienda owners, and occupy seized land. With the outbreak of revolution, he led a revolutionary militia, took part in many battles, and under the slogan “Tierra y Libertad” (“Land and Liberty”) kept fighting for the original goals of the revolution, most crucially land redistribution. After Zapata was assassinated, his followers kept up the struggle, and today, after an uprising in the 1990s, modern day Indigenous Zapatistas control a sizeable autonomous territory in Chiapas. Secondhand booksellers believe they may have been caught up in the AI supply chain that sees old books scanned then destroyed
Fears stem from a copyright lawsuit brought against AI company Anthropic in the United States by book authors. Unsealed court files revealed earlier this year that the company was engaging in the practice of “destructive scanning” – buying physical books, slicing off the spines to more efficiently scan the pages, then pulping the remains – and had sought to keep it quiet.

New evidence has emerged of U.S. Coast Guard activity in the aftermath of two strikes, further corroborating survivor testimony.
The prosecutor investigating US boat strikes and torture allegations in Ecuador was assassinated.
We uncovered NASA images and videos of the US Coast Guard that corroborates the victims’ testimonies. Then, the prosecutor working the case was shot and killed in broad daylight.

Revolutionaries in Africa understood that the question of African liberation was not just a question of race, that even if they managed to get rid of the white colonialists, if they didn’t rid themselves of the capitalistic economic structure, the white colonialists would simply be replaced by Black neocolonialists. There was not a single liberation movement in Africa that was not fighting for socialism. In fact, there was not a single liberation movement in the whole world that was fighting for capitalism. The whole thing boiled down to a simple equation: anything that has any kind of value is made, mined, grown, produced, and processed by working people. So why shouldn’t working people collectively own that wealth? Why shouldn’t working people own and control their own resources? Capitalism meant that rich businessmen owned the wealth, while socialism meant that the people who made the wealth owned it.
—Assata Shakur, Assata: An Autobiography
At the beginning of WW I, cartoonist Robert Sattefield depicts war as a soulless death machine driven by capitalism. Illustrated for the American socialist magazine, Western Comrade.

AXUX - Schulzeanas Dedicado a Klaus Schulze (1947-2022) https://axux.bandcamp.com/album/schulzeanas
Heitor Villa-Lobos fez as Bachianas em homenagem a Bach. Até que provem o contrário, não sou Villa-Lobos, então fiz as Schulzeanas em homenagem a Schulze, que nos deixou não só música, mas um estado mental.
Boa viagem!

Peruvianizing Peru: Covers from Amauta Magazine (1926–30)
“This magazine . . . does not represent a group. It represents, rather, a movement, a spirit” — or perhaps a “specter”? Whatever the preferred translation, the intention was clear: with these words, editor José Carlos Mariátegui was announcing the arrival of a radical new publication on Lima’s avant-garde scene. Amauta, as his endeavor was called, aimed to “create a new Peru within the new world”, to analyze the latest political and cultural currents around the globe in order to better understand how to build socialism at home.
