when flynn remarked upon fernando’s appearance at the cruise, aja looked over at roxie as she tried to stifle a giggle from emerging from her soft features. fernando looked at flynn, a look that could only convey how this was borderline a kidnapping on aja and roxie’s part more so than his complete free will. “i am far more vividly aware of my circumstances, mi querido amigo. to be frank, i am surprised too.” he said, giving a glance to the girls who seemed to be regretting nothing so far. fernando held the glasses so flynn could pour, once having a glass filled, taking a sip of it.

Aja looked at roxie as she spoke to her, a smile rising from her lips. “i doubt they would ever know what cracking a cold one with the boys would be like with our lifestyle.” she retorted, a small smile emerging from her lips before she lied down backwards to be near Roxie’s lap. as roxie spoke out about the person who had to pack last minute, aja seemingly raised her hand. “i packed the night before. roxie is my skype witness.” aja said before she glanced over at her brother, her eyebrows raised in the same fashion he did just moments before. fernando looked at flynn and shrugged. “i hoped they would forget about me.” he added jokingly, taking a sip. 

all of the four amigos had been such a busy schedule. Aja’s acting career was soaring despite that scandal that happened not too long ago, Roxie was at conventions all aroun America, and Fernando was someone so entirely dedicated to his education and career as a business man, even Flynn seemed busy (though it mainly seemed that his time was occupied with mourning). Aja mentioned to her brother and Flynn, making grabby hands at the both of them. “Come here, you guys. I am so excited for us to be together on a vacation. We can finally relax, actually hang out with each other like the good old days.” she exclaimed, scooching over so that her head was on Roxie’s lap. oh, how she was glad that now she could be more of a friend, more of a sister, to those she has loved since she could remember. 

It took a moment to recognize the familiar dullness in the other male’s eyes but when he did, Flynn gave the slightest nod to acknowledge it, making it off like he was merely digesting the reply. “Well, either way, I’m glad that you’re here so I don’t have to deal with the ladies on my own. Merde... I would’ve been torn apart from all the excitement and Roxie’s inability to plan out all the places she wants to see.” He snickered at that as he eyed at a sister that was now momentarily giving him the good ol’ stink-eye, adding on, “Oi, not my fault you can’t make up your mind to save your life, outside of a video game~”

"I’ll have you know I’m getting better. I actually know who I’m cosplaying as at which conventions this year. Hence the long time to prepare and pack everything,” the blonde puffed up slightly, crinkling her nose in her brother’s direction, rather proud of her accomplishment. Unfazed by her friend making herself comfortable, a hand combed through Aja’s bangs on instinct as they fell forward a bit before sticking her tongue out at Fernando. “No man will be left behind, not on my watch.”

Taking another sip of wine before setting the glass down on the table again, the mechanic chuckled, more to himself than any particular situation in the room. It was nice being in a room with his childhood comrades, now that someone mentioned it aloud. His heart swelled and there was a chumminess there; be it purely a work of friendship or also the alcohol, he wouldn’t dare reveal. Though he rolled his eyes at the bit of affection at first, the smile betrayed Flynn as he rose from his seat to accept one of Aja’s hugs. She was a bit hard to deny.

Aja had been with Roxie all day, from unpacking her bags in the other room to making sure her brother didn’t forget any of his prized possessions back home with their parents where he had been staying for his vacation from school. it had been rather interesting, finally getting to fully be divulged into the world that was Roxie’s. This was more of her field, and something that both her brother and her knew far too well. They were supposed to be sharing a room, but at the last minute it had been changed so Fernando came with his bit of luggage that honestly surprised Aja. though, she didn’t grab his luggage at any point so it could weigh far more than they look.

The two siblings entered together, so elegantly. something one would contribute to their prestigious mother who never allowed her children to slouch. Aja’s tiny figure compared to her brothers far more taller and firm structure surely gave the couple a rather interesting aura to them. often times, people being far too intimidated to approach the two. though, in this moment, they didn’t care who approached them. Both were there to enjoy some vacation time with their bestest friends in the world.

“Don’t drink it all, after being stuck with these girls, I need at least two glasses.” Fernando exclaimed, stepping forward and grabbing one of the cups that had been displayed ever so neatly in the room. His little sister couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him before taking a seat on the mini foot rest / couch at the foot of the bed. She observed the interaction between Roxie and Flynn before saying anything.“Hola.” She stated playfully, a smile on her face as she leaned an elbow on the bed and rested her head on her hand. “When did you get here?”

A smirk passing through his features, Flynn couldn’t help but remark, “I’m surprised you decided to join at all, mon ami. You are aware that we’re all stuck together for the next few months?” Reaching for the chilled bottle, he made sure to keep a firm grasp closer to the neck else the condensation cause what would be an unfortunate slip-up.

He proceeded to help Fernando pour out a new glass of wine before refilling his own while Roxie sighed, quick to move out of the way and joining Aja by sitting loftily on the still well-made bed. “It’s like a rich boy’s version of cracking open a cold one,” she mumbled for only the other to hear before saying a little louder, “plus it’s not our fault someone waited until the last minute to get ready. I’ve pretty much been packing everything piece by piece for a month.”

It’d been an hour or so since he’d arrived at the luxury hotel for the evening, time which he’d spent enjoying a flute glassful from the complimentary chardonnay and one of the mint chocolates that came with the suite. Flynn wasn’t surprised at checking in first, even if the vacation had been Roxie’s prize -- he was the one that had been residing in the city for a few years now while everyone else had remained somewhat transient. He didn’t mind the peace that came with the quiet, lounging on the couch, boots long since kicked off to revel in the full comfort that came with the cool leather.

He’d meant to sit up once more as soon as his ears prickled with the soft click of the door, responding to the keycard on the other side, but his large form had sunken in so far that he was ill-prepared for the flurry of motion that rushed towards him. Blonde hair tickled at the lips and nose as slender arms slipped around the male’s neck before standing up again to give her best motherly scolding of a look. “Billy Flynn Josue Motier, don’t tell me you’ve already popped the free wine without us!”

When in acting mode, especially live onstage, Flynn has almost perfected the art of not stumbling over his words or making unnecessary noises. If anything, he may pause very briefly which may seem like adding dramatic flair but, in reality, is his mind quickly catching up with his lips as he’s rehearsed lines so many times, sometimes they instinctively lead him through scenes instead of it being himself.

However, as far as everyday matters go? He’s full of little mistakes, but they’re just a part of his mental flow. More prone to speak his thoughts aloud, he may: add in a few extra descriptors or a miscellaneous term that doesn’t quite fit in correctly, say something in Creole of French before remembering to translate, or even fall quiet to process exactly what he meant to convey before rethinking it to make better sense.

What is a deal-breaker when it comes to dating someone?

One of the biggest lessons he took away from his parents’ relationship as well as his own past marriage is that everything’s built on give and take. If all social relations were different types of streets, romance would be an interstate highway between hearts. Though it can be difficult at times for him to emotionally convey his feelings and thoughts without the help of music, Flynn knows that he needs to be willing to adapt and compromise with his future partner(s) in order for things to work smoothly.

This is also the reason why he doesn’t believe he’s worthy of pursuing anyone right now; he doesn’t know if he’d be able to return any favors from his partner(s) anytime soon, not in the shape he’s found himself stuck in. One of his biggest fears is becoming too reliant on anyone after all, molded by the expectations pressed upon him years ago.

The signs are rather stereotypical, if a bit more dramatic due to his mental condition. Lack of sleep, low motivation, mood swings, a dangerous tendency for self-destructive habits like excessive drinking. Smoking, while a great form of stress relief for him, is only preferred over alcohol for the motion of doing so and the steady breathing required, easily abused if his nerves are fried from obsessive thoughts and waking dreams/nightmares.

Was there anything their parents pushed them to do?

His pop forced him to work at his mechanic shop and he had to be incentivized into doing chores around the house, helping clean and cook – but those are things that Flynn accepted as just parts of growing up. Without the push from his parents at a young age, he’d probably be lost as an adult as far as everyday responsibilities go. Plus now that he owns his pop’s shop, it helps that he can actually put on a jumpsuit and work on the vehicles himself whenever they need an extra hand.

What is your muse’s favorite holiday?

Perhaps it has a bit to do with Halloween the evening before, but he sincerely loves Dia de Los Muertos especially when celebrated Louisiana style, which takes cues from both Haitian and Latino cultures. From the morning processions to the lively mass and prayers to the colorful parades and partying all afternoon, there’s something for everyone participating. His favorite tradition is helping make food and drinks for the graveside picnic.

Who would your muse sacrifice themselves for, if anybody?

Now? His sister, Roxie, without a doubt in his mind. (Alright, maybe a little bit of doubt with someone else coming into the picture...)

That would most unashamedly be Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen. Oh, and Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. They’re even better with a few drinks in his system, and room for him to dance if one’s managed to convince him to do so.

Where are your muse’s ancestors from? Do they keep any of their traditions?

Though partly Jewish due to his mama’s side, his grandpa didn’t pass on the religion to her since it’s traditionally matrilineal. Instead, she was a non-denominational Christian right up to her marriage to pop, converting to Catholicism. She never really minded given that she still celebrates God and all he has to give, but she does mind the overabundance of holidays given pop’s background as a native Louisianan as well as his penchant for partying. They’ve eventually compromised on toning down for the kids... so long as he can still have Mardi Gras every year.

What is your muse most thankful for?

Family, for sure. He’s nothing without the support they’ve given him over the years and for continuing to love him despite his status.

Does your muse hate their middle name? \ What is it?

Josue is his middle name -- I know, shocker. Most people think Flynn is, but he actually has a two-part first name and then his middle name. He doesn’t mind it too much since it really lends to his French roots and it’s his father’s father’s name; the only grandparent he never got the chance to meet. He likes feeling connected even though he’s not physically present.

Everything is fine.

It’s such a simple thought that easily passes through every filter, always unwelcome yet even sometimes boldly uttered to others about his state of mind. Admittedly, it’s a rather plain, common lie – but it’s one that Flynn’s said so many times in the past five years that it could be made into a drinking game. Only his psychologist had gotten him to break and admit to it’s falseness.

What simple task is your muse surprisingly bad at?

Honestly? Going outside sometimes, socializing in general. If left on his own and not required to check in at the mechanic’s shop every day, the man would probably easily slip into a more hermitic lifestyle. Partly a fault of his own introverted tendencies, partly due to the fact that he’s awful at handling attention without someone to properly support him and bounce off of when it comes to proper cues.

(GASPARD ULLIEL, 32, HE/HIM/HIS, CISGENDER MALE) BILLY FLYNN MOTIER joined the trip! exciting right? they’re usually known for being a MECHANIC SHOP OWNER and people have definitely described them as PASSIONATE and CYNICAL before. apparently OH DARLING by PLUG IN STEREO currently describes their relationship status too. i don’t know about you, but CALLUSED HANDS COVERED IN GREASE, FADED BLUE JEANS WITH THE HEMS ROLLED UP, and WORN-IN TAP SHOES CLATTERING EXCITEDLY AGAINST WOODEN FLOORBOARDS makes me think of them. can’t wait to see what they get into!
