"Not really," Porter flipped a page and pointed, "that’s where the important stuff starts. The first page is just things the teacher said that I thought I should remember, important dates, when the first test will be, that type of thing." She paused and looked over at the notes for a moment, he had a point - it still looked like a lot. "He said it was mostly overview, but I don’t remember a lot of last years stuff - a lot’s happened between that time and now. So I wrote a lot more down than likely needed. You could skim over it likely just to see if you remember anything? I uh - I believe that he’s just doing more review tomorrow, but I could be wrong."

"Uhg, okay." Daniel was starting to regret missing those two days. Granted he came back on the third but there was already so much to  do. Junior year sucked so far and he was three days in. "Do you mind if I borrow this tonight so I can write it down then give it back to you in class on Tuesday?" Daniel was really hoping that she would say yes or he was going to be screwed seeing as she was one of the few people that Daniel actually knew in the class.

Then what are you asking?

I didn't ask. Pretty sure you heard someone else say that and think I said it.

Porter thought about changing the screen - but it just looked like some videos, she was taking a break. “Uh, no. These are though,” she flipped open her notebook and cautiously passed them to him. She thought he kept his distance because of her friendship with Jakob, although she didn’t understand the need for her to stay away from him.

"Did I miss a lot?" Daniel looked at the notebook that was slid towards him, frowning. He had so much work to catch up on right now that it was ridiculous even for the first two days of school. "Because this looks like a lot."

Sorry, I don't know about relationships.

Congratulations but I wasn't asking you to know about them

"Is that homework I missed?" Daniel asked, walking up behind Porter. Normally he would try to stay away from her but for right now, it seemed like a good idea to try and figure out what he's missed. Besides, she was in his biology class after all.

"Did I say you were that stupid?" Wyatt raised both eyebrows in question. He saw why Daniel could take it the wrong way, that it could imply he thought that by the way he worded it, but after Daniel tried to pull the ‘not hungry’ card after having not eaten for four days, Wyatt was inclined to make sure he hadn’t been neglecting his well being. 

"I'm very aware that the reason we're constantly moving is because they've been following us. You're the reason for that after all," Daniel retorted, the words slipping past his lips before he could catch himself. When he was angry or upset, he did a pretty good job of catching himself but tonight, it was clearly obvious that Daniel was failing at that. "I don't like moving and I don't want to move again. I actually like living here for once." 

"Just making sure," Wyatt commented gruffly. He didn’t know what to think of the girl anymore. If anything, it was just going to make it a little bit harder for them to conceal themselves. Wyatt had to put his blind trust into a teenager to keep their secret safe, and that wasn’t something that sat too well with him. But alas, there was not much he could do about it, so he let the subject go.

"Yes, I drank. I'm not that stupid." Daniel retorted back, starting to get even more annoyed with Wyatt as the minutes ticked on. Why, why did he have to get in trouble and why couldn't Wyatt be like any other family member who would've been excited and happy to see that Daniel was back? But no, he was stuck with the uncle that would rather be disappointed and angry with him. 

Wyatt raised a disconcerting eyebrow when his nephew responded, grumbling like usual. He was about to give Daniel the lecture he had heard every time they had to move about, but if he hadn’t understood before, there wasn’t any reason that he would understand again. This was something Daniel would have to come to terms on his own, when he’s old enough to understand. After all, he was still young, despite how fast he’s had to grow up.

"I know, I know." Daniel sighed, his hot breath leaving a mark on the countertop of that he drew a small shape in. It was one he made up, a circle with two small lines parallel to one another intersection the line on the circle. In all honesty, it was a sign he had with his friend to let the other ones know that they were home but now it was more of a comfort thing than anything at all. "She'll be the only one who knows. I'm not stupid. I just got excited when I saw the in the woods, that's all."

As the wolf moved forward she kept still, feeling as though she was a statue until they finally made contact. “Oh, boy.” She laughed quietly, shaking her head. This situation wasn’t one that she had seen coming, not for a long run. They were both something that the other was supposed to hate, it now seemed as if it was a miracle they had become friends in the first place.

Daniel let out a bark, hearing that she was going to be okay, his paw landing on her thigh. It was good to hear that she was going to be okay because Daniel couldn't do anything about it anyway. They were kinda stuck in this situation where he was afraid to go back home and yet she couldn't move. Might as well just sit here right?

"Of course we have to. It’s best not to do it right away, wait a few months so it doesn’t look like we’re running." The last thing they needed was the Black Union following them, leaving right after an attack like that? Might cause some suspicion. "Speaking of which, Alexis, does she know you’re a werewolf?" 

"Of course," Daniel muttered, feeling frustrated again. He didn't wan o leave, he didn't to uproot everything again. It felt like every single time he was starting to adapt to the place, starting to have a life, friends, and everything was going the way he wanted, they had to leave. It was frustrating for the young wolf. The only stable thing he had in his life was Wyatt who was the cause of all the unstableness.

He had been infuriatingly worried, left thinking the worst when he couldn’t find Daniel. Hell, he had been considering howling his position as a last resort. After watching Matthew suffer, Wyatt was helpless to hope he would see his nephew alive again. After all, bad things could happen with a flick of the wrist.

The words kept coming and Daniel knew what he'd done wrong. It wasn't hard to figure out even for a baby wolf. You never did what he did. You stuck with your pack which in his case, would be his Uncle and only his uncle. No one else could replace the pack. However, when there was no more yelling, Daniel looked up. Was he off the hook right now? Or was Wyatt staying quiet for a bit longer?

After Matthew had been healed, Wyatt had stuck around long enough to make sure he could function like a normal human being. Not that that applied to Matthew in the first place. He had taken time off work the past few days, his usually steady hands shook, he would have been no use digging around someone’s mouth. Wyatt had looked for Daniel, as subtly as he could. But he couldn’t very well stay in the grove for hours on end. Not if the Black Union was still around. So Wyatt was cradling a glass of scotch at the kitchen table, head held in hands as he just waited.

In all honesty, Daniel had been expecting the harsh reaction from his Uncle. Why else would he have been sitting like that, the stench of alcohol in the air as he walked through it only to meet Wyatt halfway between the kitchen and the front door. Part of him wanted to walk right back out the door but Daniel knew that wasn't smart -- not right now, he was in enough trouble as is.
