Night Session of Lightpainting in Santiago - Super Moon Night Shooted by a Canon 700D
The super moon of the 14th of November was the biggest one for 70 years. Much more people were in the street this night, to observe this natural phenomenon. Concerning us, we decided to benefit from the height of the âPuente de los candadosâ, in Bellavista, to take some pictures.Â

Tierra del Fuego - Patagonie Chilienne The name âPatagoniaâ is born with the discovery of seknam people, the former inhabitants of the island. People thought they were giants, so they called them âthe patagonesâ which means in spanish âpeople who have large feetâ. Consequently, âPatagoniaâ is the word to designate the land of the patagones. This land, which has been protected for ages from humans, inhabits an impressive diversity of wildlife, is nowdays in danger because of the development of tourism, and is directly wounded by the ozone hole, which is situated just above it.

Salar de Atacama, Antofagasta, Chile
Flashback to our trip to San Pedro de Atacama and its beautiful landscapes !Â
What more surprising for someone from the northern hemisphere than to eat an asado (bbq) in winter, on a rooftop and with a temperature of 26° ?
The mix of beef, chicken and vegetables on the grill highlights the cultural diversity of the group as more traditional chilien asados tend to have 4 to 5 different pieces of meat and almost no vegetables !
Tomatoes, mushrooms, zuchini, beef, chicken, beer and wine... Who wants to join ?Â
With over 80 geysers, El Tatio is the largest geyser field in southern hemisphere and the third in the world.
Waking up at 4am and arriving at the field for the sunrise is a once in a lifetime experience. Because of the difference in temperature, large columns of steam overlook almost every geyser.
160 km south of San Pedro de Atacama, and standing 4120 meters above sea level, are the fascinating lakes Miscanti and Miniques.Â
A lava flow from the Miniques volcano divided what is now known as Lake Miscanti and Lake Miniques.
The place is somewhat magical; the mountains and lakes give you an unique opportunity to discover the beauty of nature thanks to the colors of the rocks and their reflection on the water.
The Laguna Chaxa, in the middle of the Salar de Atacama, is home to two of the three types of flamingos found in Latin America.Â
This blue lagoon had the particularity of reflecting in a stunning way the wildlife as well as the landscape surrounding it.
As part of the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos, the environment is protected to preserve the natural habitat of these rare birds.Â

We took advantage of the bank holiday to go up north to the Atacama desert; and this is what arriving in the driest desert on earth looks like.Â
Having landed in Calama (2260 m), we then took a bus to San Pedro de Atacama (2400 m), a relatively small but touristic town, from where we could visit the many wonders of the region.Â
Located between two mountain chains, the landscape is quite remarkable. From long endless roads to harsh valleys, the ride to San Pedro was a good startoff point.Â
Cerro Manquehue is the highest hill in the Santiago Valley and one of the greatest treks to do when visiting the region.
A 2.2 km hike brings you to the top of the hill at approximately 1600 meters above sea level. From there you can observe the entire valley, and if youâre lucky enough, you might also spot a condor.Â
Spotting a condor seemed amazing to us, but we then learnt that manquehue literally means âplace of condoresâ.
