Every time I’m out walking around I like to look at houses and think of what kind of people inhabit them and what their lives are like; and what kind of life I would have if I was the one living there. This house on Elm Street has always captured my imagination. It’s probably the oldest building on the street (built 1848) and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I wrote a story about it, which is getting published this spring. Now, thanks to its real estate listing, I’m seeing the inside for the first time. It’s very little like what I imagined.
