I've had a fear of failure, and (simultaneously) the fear of being too much at the forefront (of conversation, attention, praise...), damn near my whole life. I've seen rebellious glimpses of a man who was able to combat those fears, but that man comes around less than my father did. I always thought that if I worked, practiced, and read a bit...more, I would grow more comfortable moving forward, but it's still an uphill battle. The truth is, success lives JUST outside our reach, until we leap and take hold of it. Fear is a lie we tell ourselves, and our brains will go to GREAT lengths to play the devil’s advocate. Are you able to filter out the yes men from genuine feedback? Ignore the crowd, and instead, focus on a trusted few.

When we’re younger, we find it very easy to be attracted to people and situations that are chaotic simply because they make our lives interesting. But as we get older, we begin to appreciate the value of peace and order in our lives much more. This may come off as boring to some people, but to those who have already lived interesting and adventurous lives, the drama and chaos has lost its appeal. Working on our passion has replaced searching for purpose, spending time with family and real friends has replaced kicking it with acquaintances, and investing in ourselves has replaced investing time in places that don’t offer us anything in return. After taking a long hiatus after the release of Gold Standard and a strenuous 60+ city U.S. tour, Supastition returns with the self-produced Sacrifice EP. The project speaks on everything from learning to sacrifice your own dreams for the betterment of your family to the negative effects of attention and social media.
