I have watched Manos: The Hands of Fate multiple times and not once did I ever say, âWhat is the point of this.â I have watched many of Hallmark Christmas movies and have never wanted to turn the channel. Sure, I know what is going to happen as soon as the movie starts, but it is a level of cheese t

As I can only stomach so much, I wish to do a thorough and fair review I will be reviewing this musical as the story progresses and within multiple parts. Please hold all and any questions for the end of the review.Â
Rating of characters so far will be at the bottom.Â
Now, let us start from the beginning.
It opens to an older Max and why he narrates it is beyond me because as well all know, Max is a dog and literally cannot talk. I understand it is a musical but it does not need a narration because the story of the grinch is well known to many if not all.Â
Now the main issue I have is that the so called feature song is sung AT THE BEGINNING? Full offense but this is THE GRINCH MUSICAL NOT THE WHOâS. And also if your most popular song out of this ENTIRE 1:30 min musical is in the beginning AND THE WHOâS SINGING ABOUT WHO IS EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS AND THEN HONESTLY WHY STICK AROUND FOR THE REST?Â
Moving onto the Whoville residentâs outfits and they are beyond atrocious. They are quite literally if a blind costume designer and an inflation fetishist designed their attire. I felt quite ill having to look at them for as long as I did.Â
^^^ These outfits are honest to god the worst thing I have seen and I am so disappointed as a major television network funded this??? Did they not realize the 2000 Grinch movie outfits were still characteristically fine for the Whoâs? The pink wigâs make them look like clowns and the pants situation is just.....so bad. They also sung their âWhoâs excited for Christmasâ song for what felt like half of the musical.Â
These Whoâs did sing the iconic song that is known across Grinch lore but overall the Whoâs so far are rating a 3/10.Â
Then after the headliner song, we get a song about Max??? And his stages of young max to teen, then to the one that is young adult max (AKA the main Max seen throughout the musical). Except Max does not talk in the other adaptations and this raises issue as he sings, talks, and stands at certain points? Boo Boo Stewart plays the main Max and his singing talent is less than stellar but I suppose this is making his career after Twilight.Â
His outfit and demeanor unsettle me. This is the disgusting product of a theater kid turned furry. I absolutely hate that he is in the âdog positionâ of the dynamic with the Grinch but he speaks to him as if they were equals???? Overall this Max is a 0/10 for me compared to the others.
AT 10 MINUTES IN TO THE GRINCH MUSICAL the Grinch finally makes his appearance. Â
I have some preliminary critiques for M&M and his....interpretation of the Grinch. His outfit (which I know M&M does not control) is insultingly based upon the vile Illumination studios Grinch. As it is shown with the scarf, vest, and socks. What shocks me is that they seem to have cheaped out on his center body with a vest, which would make sense as it is a musical, BUT IF A MAJOR TELEVISION NETWORK CAN AFFORD WHAT LOOKS LIKE CUSTOM GREEN DOC MARTENS THEN THEY CAN HAVE HIM BE NATURAL AS HE IS PORTRAYED IN LITERALLY ALL OTHER VERSIONS.Â
Moving on, The Grinch himself has interesting facial features as is seen with his eyebrows and ripoff backstreet boy hair. Whatâs confusing is why they bother painting his nose rather than to just leave it alone? But no amount of makeup can hide M&Mâs butt chin rofl.Â
Glee bint Mattward is not giving a grinch-like impression but rather a mediocre imitation of Danny Elfmanâs Jack Skellington singing voice. Although I do give the Glee defectee credit to try to get into the character of hating Christmas rather than being a sad, pathetic loser like Cumberbintâs Grinch. Rating 4/10.Â
Goo Gooâs âI am the Angel of Musicâ moment was quite interesting but nonetheless irrelevant to the vital story of this musical.Â
Now we move onto a song about why the Grinch hates Christmas featuring the Who children, which I thought was a quite interesting and dynamic song as they use many props and dancing. In addition, they run around in chaos akin to the nightmares of childfree adults. HOWEVER, THIS MOMENT IN THE SONG WHERE FOR SOME REASON MATTWARD JUST......LOOKS LIKE HE PEES HIMSELF WAS UNNECESSARY. In all actuality I guess he was disgusted at children or something? But why make THIS FACE?Â
As we wrap up this review I leave on the final note of I only got through 20 minutes of this but I am excited to review more of the Glee defectee, the Twilight furry, and the Whoville fetish come to life.Â
Overall ranking thus far:
The Whoâs: 3/10, for mainly the costumes and mediocre feature song.
Old Max: 1/10, probably shouldnât be 100 feet near an elementary school, much less these children.
Main Max: 0/10, as he is a theater kid turned furry.Â
Glee defectee turned Grinch: 4/10, as he is way better than Benedick Cucumbermanâs Grinch, but far inferior to the man, the myth, the legend Jim Carreyâs Grinch.Â
âOoh! Ahh! Mmm.... Thatâs it, Iâm not going.â Jim Carrey Grinch is still my favorite! Hereâs my latest drawing! Still trying out this new style.

Why the new Grinch is a weak, and absolutely garbage Grinch compared to Jim Carreyâs Grinch.
Firstly, Benedict Cumberbinch is in no way a viable voice actor. He may be suitable for more serious roles, and I acknowledge that.Â
What I cannot forgive?
It is Illumination Studios insatiable need to make more of a profit off of a well known childrenâs tale. The entire point of both the original 1966 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Boris Karloff and Jim Carreyâs How the Grinch Stole Christmas was to emphasize that Christmas is not JUST about buying and receiving gifts. HOWEVER, Illumination studios and the Grinch do not emphasize that but instead try to make Benedict Cumberbinch a soft and totally flat character. There is no character development whatsoever and most of the focus is on Cindy Lou Who, who is a somewhat vital character, but is not THE main charatcer. We, as the audience, are supposed to view the Grinchâs original stance on Christmas and not how Cindy wants to help her mom.Â
The main plot is that the Grinch is essentially sick of how the Whoâs down in Whoville make Christmas this whole shopping extravaganza and make it into an over the top gluttony session of gifts and food with no limit.
In The Grinch, it literally is Cumberbinch being a soggy piece of bread who instead has social anxiety and doesnât really progress the story until the main part of taking the presents. Jim Carrey also gives active character and attitude to the Grinch and Benedict Cumberbinch acts like a teenager who has to go errand shopping with his mom. There is no good voice acting other than the fact that he gets hit by things. Jim Carryâs rendition was at least decently thought out, but Illumination Studio does not care about quality, but instead they care about how much money they can rake in by using their cheap animation to pump out a cash cow. The only reason they begged Cucumberman is because they know people (mainly millenials obsessed with him) would flock to the movies to hear his voice. They also decided to toss in some other celebrities so that their movie would be somewhat recognizable from their mindless minion dribble for the parents. Not to forget that they literally used an old YouTube trend of screaming goat to appeal to the kids. Which was not only obnoxiously obtrusive but devalued the movieâs quality even further. Â
This was my overall thoughts since it seems to have gained some more traction especially being December and all. I may post a part 2 answering questions as to why I have this opinion. But anyways, Happy Holidays!!
Thanks for responding to my post while this blog was on hiatus like the little welp you are.
Firstly, the 2018 Grinch is a weak and feeble attempt from Illumination for a petty cash grab. Much like their other movies it is watered down so that even a brain dead vegetable like you could comprehend it. Also you say it took a long time to create THAT? CGI doesnât hold a candle to traditional 2D animation and just like many other CGI movies it will be a cringey, relic of theatrical past. If this project took 5 years to make I feel bad and laugh at the poor underpaid animators who had to work on this car crash of a movie.Â
Furthermore, the ONLY reason this movie got so much headlining was 1) they were riding the coat tails of the glorious movie that stars Jim Carrey, 2) they stuffed this movie with high profile actors and actresses so it seemed like the attendees would at least get some worth out of their ticket.Â
I appreciate quality work. Not blatantly obvious cash grabs that have 0 worth and obviously robbed their employees of 5 years, if even that, to work on THIS movie.
Sorry your mom doesnât give any attention to you, so you have to turn to your sad little angel bitch blog and insult an obvious for fun blog. If lobotomy was legal I would pay for yours so you would appreciate good animation.Â
