The Nano Reef

New tank layout. Going bare bottom as the sand looks dirty most of the time. New powerhead, neon pineapple tree coral and lemon zoas. Oh and a cleaner shrimp

New powerhead from Polario. Really good so far kicked up loads of crap off the rock work. It’s bi-directional too and ramps up and down over 20secs to simulate waves. Much, much better that the fluval CP2 I had before, that was a waste of money.

Found this little dude munching on algae last night. Doesn’t seemed to have bothered my Green Star Polyps yet so he can stay. Got two Stomatella snail hitchhikers too and a bristleworm.

I’ve now got Chaeto in the sump which is slowly out competing the algae in the tank. I’m running carbon and rowephos too. Seems to have improved the water quality. I’m going to get Ca and kH test kits next as calcium and hardness are crucial for coral growth.

Clowns are in. Just waiting on a digital thermometer off amazon to replace the one on the glass.

All in all I am pleased with the tank and would recommend it, just check all the plumbing thoroughly.

Installed the Ocean Revive Arctic T247 LEDs off my old tank. Should be getting R/O and live rock tomorrow.
