I hate getting messages like this one. Messages that make you feel powerless. Messages that make you feel sick to the stomach. The knowledge that someone you love is in danger, there's no way out and it's probably going to get worse before it gets better. There's nothing you can do when you're on opposite sides of the earth. Except pray.

Feeling incredibly grateful tonight. Grateful to a God who created the world. Grateful for a family who love and support me always. Grateful for a guy who makes me smile, laugh and feel safe. Grateful for a friend of the Welsh variety who never fails to cheer me up and always has time for a chat and who has stretched me so far in my faith. Grateful for some amazing friends who I can't believe I didn't know this time last year. Grateful for friends who laugh at and with me. Grateful for shoulders to weep on and hugs that reassure me. Grateful for experiences I'll never forget. Grateful for life. Life is a gift. Appreciate it. Enjoy it. You never know what's around the corner.

Reasons why my flat mates are better than yours: two girls who don't have exams went to buy us mcflurrys and delivered them to the library.
