October 29th – Cambridge Massachusetts
It's very easy to get in a routine of NOT doing anything - this is my short lived attempt to document our cycle of 10 hour drives and 40 minute sets - Don
Somewhere in New York -this guy LOVES Newfoundland.
Tuesday Night The venue is TT The Bear’s – A cool club I’ve heard of a few times -  the locals seem cool and are quick to greet us with questions about Trailer Park Boys. - which for the record, I enjoy thoroughly. http://ttthebears.com
The night opens with Black Beach who sound like a more focused Nirvana – the songs are dark and hectic, and loud as all fuck. They mention that they have a Nirvana cover set for Halloween and cover School – they finish with a few doomy versions of Doors numbers and the small but appreciative crowd disperses for cigarettes or goes home to watch The Walking Dead. Their originals are just epic. https://www.facebook.com/blackbeachma
Motorleague plays initially to the two locals but by the 2nd song people have started to filter back in and are ripe to sing with us, with only minimal prodding from my best WWE announcer voice. Â
The night finishes with Zip Tie Handcuffs who are a cross between Torche and Bracket…that’s my best guess – but it sounds like they have underlying influences I can’t peg – We enjoy them right until the end of their set. This is a band I’ll go on to look up after the show, and recommend to some friends who’ll never check them out. https://www.facebook.com/ziptiehandcuffs
The promoter is courteous and apologetic about the small numbers – mentioning the world series - but for us it was better than expected...we are more concerned with the larger cycle of this ahead of us while we make our way west.
We are asleep by 1am. The alarm goes off at six and we begin the 10 hour jaunt to Cleveland.
Note: I need to take many, many more photos.
