Before I begin, please let me preface this by saying I do not want anyone to be pressured into donating anything. I know that times are tough for everybody, that we all have our struggles, and I don’t want anyone to feel that they are obligated into helping out with ours just because we’re friends, or have been mutuals forever, etc. I really, really don’t expect anything. This is not an emergency, it is not life or death, we are not going to go hungry without help. It is totally optional and we are not going to struggle financially in the long run. This is just a sudden, short term expense that we were completely unprepared for, and there are more expenses to come. If we do receive help, we would gladly pay it back as soon as we are in the position to do so.
As some of you might know if you read my rambling nonsense of a blog (or my Twitter), my little Luna is sick. She’s been sick for some time, starting on Thursday or Friday of last week. My usually vocal, active little girl who loves food more than she loves life is suddenly a lethargic, quiet little ball of fluff who wants nothing to do with any food we offer her. She no longer follows me everywhere I go, she stays put and sleeps all the time. She’s not herself at all.
We took her to the emergency vet on Friday night. We were there until nearly midnight where she was examined and had bloodwork and urine tests done. She was found to be dehydrated, and her bloodwork and urine analysis all came back abnormal but not in levels that would easily diagnose the cause. They gave us the option to keep her overnight for more tests, or to send her home with some appetite stimulants and to watch her closely. We chose to take her home, and we left with some meds and an $800 vet bill (we can absolutely provide proof, if necessary)
She improved over the weekend, only slightly, and now she’s back to where she was when we took her in. She will not eat, will not do anything. We have tried everything we were told to try, and none of it seems to have any kind of lasting impact. We’ll be taking her back to the vet in the next day or two, where they may need to do x-rays, put her on an IV, or keep her for an extended period of time. Which is fine, as long as it works, but it means more money that we currently don’t have.
If anybody wants to donate to her, we would be forever grateful. We would 100% pay you back if you want. You know I’m good for it, I’ve been on this hellsite forever and I’ll be here until I die probably, so I’m not gonna run off with your money. You will be paid back if you ask to be. We are just in a tight spot right now, with more vet bills surely on the horizon, and we could use some short term help.
Again, please don’t feel any pressure. If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know it’s very unlike me to ask for help but some kind people have shown interest in helping before, and I am no longer in the position to turn them down. Thanks for reading this far if you did. If you want to signal boost, that would be much appreciated too.
Thanks, friends.
