Whenever I make Brussels sprouts, I am taken back to the first time I ate them. My dear friend @parispaysanne fed them to me during one of our long, all-night shifts at an Irish pub in Paris, at a time when our diets consisted of chips, bangers and mash, fries and any other fried food you can imagine. She chuckled when I said I had never eaten a Brussels sprout and had heard they were soggy and gross, and told me that she would show me the way of a good Brussels sprout. She taught me how to cook them in the tiny pub kitchen, and I still make them that way to this day.
