Lets Hate Homophobia!

Dear homophobes: it’s honestly childish how you invalidate us for sport. And racism? pathetic. “I dOn’T lIkE yOuR cOlOr sO I’m gOnNa bE mEaN tO yOu.” You sound like a toddler throwing a tantrum because someone else got the blue crayon. You treat identity like a joke because you have nothing else to offer. The term homophobia should mean fear of the queer — just be glad we’re merciful enough to not give you a reason to fear us, just because we put up with hate doesn’t mean we’re okay with it.

Dear parents, remember that if your child has trouble respecting you, it’s hard to be respectful to somone you don’t have respect for. Kids want parents, not dictators. Don’t force them to respect you, earn it instead. This is not meant to be offensive, just a reminder that punishment is not connection.

I’m ace not because I’m young, not because I don’t understand, but because it feels right. Being ace explained why these jokes and things on tv or anything relating to that stuff never connected. I stopped hating myself for not being “normal” when I found that there was a label for this. To anyone seeing this, remember what kinger once said: “the worst thing you can do in this world is make anyone feel like they aren’t wanted or loved.”

Wouldn't it be convenient if parents told you exactly why they were yelling your name, so you can decide if you heard them or not?
