I (the moderator, aka: L) was tired of my fic recs getting lost on my main blog so! Here is a shiny new place for them to live!
The only difference is now, any of you can submit your own fic recommendations, for any mcyt fandom! I may choose not to include all of them (simply because I am one person, and can't do everything) but I will take them all into consideration!
Rules:
No hate on any fanwork, fandom, or fan. This is a supportive space.
Credit the author if at all possible, and if you submit a recommendation (by ask or by post submission) include a link to the fanfic itself.
No discourse. You will be blocked if you start or participate in discourse in the reblogs, replies, or inbox.
Don't spam the asks or post submissions with the same rec.
NSFW is allowed! It will be tagged as #nsfwficrec so it is up to you to filter it out if you don't wish to see it.
Be supportive, kind, and respectful. This is a place to celebrate the wonderful fics and authors in our community <3

How should a submission be formatted?
You should include the title of the fic, a link to it, and the authors name (a link to them or tagging them is optional but appreciated) and either a brief description of the fic, or say why you like it. We are trusting the authors to tag their works appropriately and for the readers to read said tags.
Can we submit our own fics?
As long as you are respectful about it, don't spam, and are selective in the fics you submit, I think it's okay! This may change in the future, if abused.
Can we reblog and add our own comments about the fic?
Please do! We love our authors and you are very much encouraged to reblog with comments or tags, kudos, and comment on the fic itself (if you have worries about doing that, the long live feedback project has excellent commenting guides that can make it easier!)
Any MCYT fandom?
Yes, any. I don't care how small or how big, as long as the rules above are followed.

This fic was written with the Hermitshipping Big Bang of 2023, so it is completely written and is being updated weekly!
I went looking for a good cowboy fic, and got sucked in by the absolute mystery and intrigue that this fic offers. The slow reveal of details, the hints that you're given by all the things that go unspoken, the prose itself with the beautiful details and the wonderful characterizations of the different povs... it's all so good.
I am very excited to see how it ends, and I'm certain it's going to be one of the fics I reread very often.
This fic. Oh. My. Goodness. I love it so much. Definitely not for the faint of heart, there's some heavy topics, but oh gosh is it great. The writing is beautiful, and the plot is very compelling, and its still updating! So we can all follow along the journey!

This fic is very cute, and nailed Martyn's character very well. I also too the time to read the fics in the rest of the series (love goes toward love as schoolboys from their books) and the characterization continues to be on point and very engaging to read! I also love the descriptions, and the whole au is just wonderful.

Somehow this fic made me cry with laughter, then again when touched my heart in ways I didn't expect from something tagged as "quickly sliding into crack". It's hilarious, concerning, and it feels so... human. Maybe that's the best thing about it, how real and genuine it feels.
If you're looking at the ship and going "huh??", this is your sign to just read it, and see if you like them. They've got such a dynamic, and this author captures it very well. This fic has lovely descriptions and it makes me happy to read it every time i go back to it.

Y'all. When I say this fic is as soft as the title suggests, I mean it. It's sweet and although there is minor angst in the form of "the logistics of being undead" (to quote the tags), it made my heart warm. The descriptions are also beautiful and all the feelings are so vivid - just well done in general.
would you ever consider adding tags for ships or characters or authors? it might make this blog easier or more useful to navigate. you don’t have to, since i dunno how much you intend for this to serve as an archive or searchable rec list as opposed to you just simply posting stuff you like, but it might be useful for, say, if we like something you posted, finding fic similar to the posted one
At the moment most of those are unsustainable for me. Since I'm running this alone, I'm trying to keep everything pretty streamlined so that I can keep this up long term - my personal rec lists in google docs have a much more complicated format that makes it hard to continue in my slumps, so I'm attempting to make things here easy in hopes that even when I'm in a low spot I can continue posting here and giving y'all recs.
There's also the concern of which tags to use. There are so many ship and character tags that I know about, and even more that I'm unaware of, and I do worry about accidentally using the wrong ship or character tag if I try to choose just one to stick to.
And of course, the fact that I will post nsfw recs means that it would have to be all new tags to keep nsfw fics from ending up in the maintags, which I know is a concern for many authors who write and post nsfw fics.
However! Tagging the author name is something that sounds very reasonable and sustainable, so I will go back and edit the past posts with that, and try to do tag those in the future as well!
TL;DR - I have considered ship and character tags and decided not to, but I will tag the authors ao3 username.
