I recently adopted a kitten from this lady who rescued her from a kill shelter . She seems to have alot of problems with sneezing  she has had this cold for about two months now and she has blood in her stools. I am frightened she might not make it if I don’t get her seen soon . im asking for donations so I can take her to the vet. My friend and her kids are in serious danger from her neighbours who are white supremacists. She moves mid January but she isn’t safe in the meantime staying where she is. We need to get her out of there asap.

Is there anyone able to pick her up/cover the cost of transportation for her, and/or house them for the next while, or cover the cost of a motel/hotel room for her? 

Hello, this is Lydia/ Venus, once again making a donation post out of desperation. If you don’t know the drill by now, I’m a disabled, impoverished trans woman living with 3 other disabled and impoverished trans people. For the past year I’ve been trying to make ends meet on disability, a work at home job that I was let go from due to COVID (and then not rehired to), and finally CERB/ CRB which have now come to an end, so I’m back to making half the minimum wage on disability.

I am desperately trying to find a job that I can do, but it’s extremely difficult as I cannot take public transit due to being at high risk for dying from contracting COVID, as well as living with people who are too. I would also be unable to quarantine/ isolate in this event, as my living space is very close to the entrance of our home. I am planning on going to school next year so that I have education relevant to my career path, but until then I might not be able to find employment.

So, this brings me to the main point of this post. I need help buying a car. Here are the reasons why:

I cannot take public transit due to being high risk as well as living with others who are high risk.

Employers do not want to hire me if I do not have access to “reliable transportation” aka my own car. This is a huge barrier to me getting a job.

With a car I would be able to cut down on the amount spent on taking Ubers around, usually to the grocery store. Every time we go to the grocery store, we end up paying between $15-30 on cab ride(s). We can’t just stop doing this as we need groceries to live, and using instacart would be about as or even more expensive.

I can’t afford monthly payments on a car loan on top of paying for insurance. I need to buy a car outright. My current budget affords me about $240 spending money each month. This is after rent, phone & internet bills, and necessities like shower items, toothpaste, etc. This is not enough to cover gas, insurance, and repayments on a loan even if I split it up between my roommates and I, all of whom have even less than I do per month.

This will also benefit my roommates as I will be able to drive them places so we don’t have to walk everywhere anymore, which is very difficult as all of us deal with varying levels of chronic pain.

All in all, I am hoping to raise maybe $2,500 CAD (1942.26 USD) for this. I think this will be enough to set us up with a car that will last for at least a year. I know this is a huge amount for a tumblr donation post, but I really do not know where else to turn at this point.

In return for donations, I am offering needle-punched embroidered patch commissions. I can also send you digital prints of my photography for personal use only if you so desire. We can discuss pricing on this stuff. I can also offer proofreading and editing services for pretty much anything, but I would prefer to stick to business/ professional correspondence. I can edit and proofread essays and things of the like, but I’m not confident my grasp of English would be quite enough for, say, university level essays.

One of my roommates, @guillotineroom has also offered their services for proofreading and editing University level essays, as xe studied English at University before. They also can do HTML and CSS commissions! This is available until the 18th of January, 2021.

There is also the option of requesting that I pay you back once I am able to. I don’t know how long this will take, but as soon as I am earning steady income I will pay you back if you so desire. Just mark your donation with an ‘x’ or something similar and I will put it in a spreadsheet and pay you back as soon as I am able to, but please be patient as it will take quite a while for me to find employment.
