Lieutenant Simon Riley didn't have it easy. Growing up in an abusive household, his father would bring home dangerous animals and scare Simon and his brother with them, instilling an understanding that they were at the complete mercy of their father's hands. His older brother, Tommy, followed in the father's footsteps and would sometimes put on a skull mask to scare Simon at night. Fear was always present in the Riley home. At 16 Simon started an apprenticeship to become a butcher and later joined the military to get away from home. He was accepted into the Special Air Service. After returning home one day in 2003, Simon found his brother addicted to drugs, stealing from their mother to finance his bad habit. So Simon left the military for a while to help his family members get themselves together. He beat his father and threw him out of the house for good, for all the years of abuse he subjected the family to.

Going back to the Army proved to be a wise move for Simon. His overwhelming physique in height and broadness gave him quite the advantage over most of his peers and helped him be taken more serious. His skills, on top of everything, landed him in Task Force 141, multinational special operations unit.

Of course, though, working in a Special Operations Unit is never all sunshine and daisies. Though it does take Simon to some very pretty places and allows for a lavish lifestyle both in- and outside of work, financed by the government, it is also filled with betrayal, pain that can only be masked and not dealt with, and dangers that most people wouldn't dare to imagine. The negatives and positives put each other at a perfect balance. For every nightly stroll throughout the marble paths of a 5-star-hotel garden in Kuwait there is another team member that dies in front of your eyes.
