I adored 5pb’s science adventure game, Steins;Gate. It’s well written, funny, dramatic, and all sorts of fabulous. I also think the anime did a solid job of bringing together as much as it could to create a solid adaptation.

5pb has announced the development of Steins;Gate 0, a game they are calling a true sequel to the original, and not a fan disc. According to the company they “don’t mind if you call it 2.” As for what console it’ll be appearing on, no details yet. The answer is pretty obvious though.

The story takes place on a timeline in which our hero couldn’t save the person most dear to him. The contents of the three novels will also be in-game as playable routes. Rad.

The game will also be getting a proper anime adaptation, so fear not. Even if the game doesn’t make it over, you’ll get your chance to enjoy the continuing adventures of Okabe and co.
