More trivially if one more 4-bedroom boomer tells me Europeans happily raise children in 1 bedroom walk-ups (they do not) I am going to move somewhere where you can at least drink a beer on the street (maybe even somewhere more scenic than Toronto or Hamilton) as a consolation prize for your downward mobility ok.

Honestly Canadians boomers make me, ironically, respect American exceptionalism at least a little bit because I cannot convey to you how much I think 'it's also like this everywhere else' is both a morally and intellectually bankrupt excuse for Canadian decline. First of all you do not mean everywhere else, you mean variously a dozen Western countries or even fewer Anglosphere countries that did the same stupid thing and got the same stupid result. Second of all if you are saying this when you were born when Canada was among the best in the world at at least a few things you are both a coward and a loser.

My hottest take on tradwife and more generically motherhood-centric stuff is that I think this is a little bit cultural backlash and a lot bit that the largest cohort of millennials (34 in Canada, US basically similar) is in the time when they're on the clock for babies.
