Cristina Zenato removes hooks from sharks and they let her stick her hand down their throat to do it and they even bring other sharks who need help to see her.

It’s a relationship that goes beyond a single helpful interaction. For example one of the sharks that would show up when she first started swimming with them was a shark she called Foggy Eye who really didn’t like to be touched. One day, Foggy Eye showed up with a hook in her mouth that Cristina Zenato removed, and ever after, Foggy Eye cuddles when she visits, putting her head in Cristina’s lap and enjoying some petting

 We don’t know SO much. Some wolf spiders will adopt unrelated orphaned spiderlings and raise them. We recently discovered that the ant-mimicking jumping spider (below) produces “milk” and suckles its young until they are nearly fully grown.

“Let sharks die naturally”. They won’t die naturally—they’ve been around for millions of years and their numbers are only starting to get threatened now because of human interference and activity, including things like hunting for exotic food. Humans are the ones causing this. Nothing about the threat to sharks is “natural”.

Also, “no such thing as an important apex predator”. HA!

Other examples of apex keystone species is the wolf (x), the Jaguar (x), the lion (x) — some journals describe keystone animals as “mostly” being predators (x). You clearly have never “checked” on what animals are and aren’t important in your life.

The risk of shark attacks at the beach is 1 in 11.5 million (x, x), and your chances of getting killed by one is 1 in 264.1 million. You’ll still be able to enjoy the beach just fine, nimrod. Statistically speaking, shark attacks nearly never happen.

This is the path of basically every "former trender" I've ever talked to.

i was one of them. i had to learn on my own that the trans community is not one to try and ‘fit in to.’ it is a group of wonderful, beautiful people born with gender dysphoria who need to medically transition in some way in order to live healthy, happy lives. by saying i was trans, i invalidated the identities of others and accidentally appropriated others’ hardships.

i used to think that all you needed to be trans was to think you were trans. genuinely, i did. but then i asked myself, what makes a trans person if not dysphoria? how do you define it? and to this day, i cannot come up with a good answer.

through my journey in the lgbt community, i have met so many others like me: easily influenced as people on the internet searching for identity, who thought they were trans and now know they are not. spread awareness that transtrending is a real thing. speak up if you’ve had similar experiences of your own. most importantly, be kind. foster discussion, not argument. nothing gets done with hate.
