I solemnly swear I'm up to no good [Closed/Sirius]
â Sirius still hadnât grown accustomed to the baths in Pyli. After all, not only did they have the distinct disadvantage of being â well â Muggle baths, but they also lacked showers and running water. The bath water grew tepid quickly, and Sirius never felt fully satisfied with it after he got out. Clean, maybe, but not relaxed. Maybe that was the point.
Still, he wrapped a towel around his waist and wandered back to his room, feeling strangely at ease. His roommate wouldnât be around tonight, which meant he had the place to himself. Which meant he could do whatever he pleased, for the first time in ages. Sirius slipped into the room and made a move to turn the oil lamp on â
Before realizing someone else had already turned it on for him.
At the sight of the elf-eared girl at the desk, Sirius started so badly that he almost dropped his towel â but thankfully saved himself (and the girl) from that unpleasant act. Still, Sirius sputtered and staggered, leaning back against the door to brace himself.
âWhat the hell â Who the hell are you?"Â
If he were a dog right now, he was certain his hackles would be raised. â
She had managed to draw several blotted pictures of herself and Henry, as well as herself and the few other friends she had made by the time the door opened. The little blonde kept her head down, trying to finish the scribbly doodle she had nearly completed.Â
Her triumphant noise was countered by the startled cry of the other occupant. It took Nowi a moment to realize that it hadn't been Henry that entered the room, and a ink smudged face turned towards the dark haired man who was standing at the door.Â
Her eyes lit up brightly, like a child at christmas and she scrambled off her chair to rush up to him, standing on her tiptoes to get whatever height she could to peer up at him.Â
"Oh! Oh! You must be the dog! I'm Nowi! The dragon! Did Henry say anything about me? He told me about you! You can do the same thing I can! I was waiting for Henry, I didn't expect you to be here! This is wonderful! I wanted to meet you!" Â There were barely any breaths between her rambling, eyes bright and excited. "Did you have a good bath? Though, I wonder why you took it in human form? It's important to keep your fur clean. Though, that would make sense if you were by yourself. Paws can't exactly scrub fur very well. I could help you with that if you need it!"
Dragons are ferocious creatures [Closed/Takane]
Claws. Of course the dragon would have claws, but all the large beast did was shove her. âTag?â With all the children running around giggling happily, Takane started after the children hoping to catch one. It didnât prove too difficult to catch one of the children and tag them.Â
Although, it was a bit amusing to watch a tall dragon run away from small children. The game continued for a couple of rounds before Takane had to stop and catch her breath. She wasnât used to having a physical body, or the feeling of fatigue, as she had been pre
viously trapped in electronic devices. âSorry. Please continue, I just need a minute!â She called out in between gasping for air.Â
Takane wanted to figure out how this dragon was able to keep running despite her rather cumbersome size. Children always had boundless energy, but the hacker didnât know if it translated to dragons as well. Still feeling a bit lightheaded, Takane took a seat on the ground, watching as the dragon and children continued chasing one another.Â
Even if she wasnât able to keep up with the rest of them, it had been nice to just have fun for a while. She flinched when a child tripped, but relaxed when they got up and continued laughing. The green dragon started slowing down, Takane wondered if it was tired.Â
It had finally happened, for a brief wonderful span of time Nowi was able to forget all her troubles and just concentrate on the wondrous squeals of delights and the giggles that helped fuel the little Manakete. They played and played and played until her muscles ached, even in her larger form.Â
She wobbled off to the side to where the other woman was, glancing back at the children still screaming and running about, before flopping almost ungracefully onto the ground beside her. She shifted her large head into the girl's lap, rolling over onto her back. "Thank you." She murmured, sighing deeply before she let herself shift back into her humanoid shape. Â
She still remained in the girl's lap, grinning up at her. "Nah seriously, I haven't had this much fun since I got here. It's all be work work work, no time to kick back and be a kid." Nowi kicked out her booted feet, thumping her heels against the ground as she laughed happily. "Thank you for playing with us! It's always better with new friends right?"Â
The blonde sat up quickly, turning about to look at the girl fully. "Would you be my friend?"
One of a Kind? [Closed/Fenris]
She seemed to shrink inwards, when he mentioned that he did not know what a Manakete was. Perhaps they were her fellows, back wherever she had come from? If so, then he thought he understood.
He had only ever met one person who was also a dragon. Ancient and powerful, neither mage nor abomination but something else entirely. She had seen directly into his soul and known its secrets.
His skin prickled. This girl did not have Flemethâs presence or power about her. Yet she claimed to become a dragon. And she believed him to be one of her kind.
"I am no dragon," he said, not unkindly. "I am an elf. I have only ever known one⌠being⌠to transform into a dragon, and she was nothing like me."
"Oh."
Not a manakete. Her fingers closed back on her dragonstone, and her brows furrowed. Not a manakete, but something called an Elf?Â
"I've never met an Elf before." She stated simply, the previous traces of sorrow on her face vanishing into a pleased beam.
"I've met Taguels and Humans and Laguz but I have never met an Elf before." She inched a little closer and stood on her tiptoes to get a good look at his face, shoving her dragonstone back into her pouch. "Do all elves have such pretty markings like you do?" Her ears twitched as she spoke, violet eyes wide. "I've seen ink inscribed into skin, but it never is as bright as what you have. Are you born with them? Or do they come in as you get older? Gosh, I wish I had some of those. Then maybe people wouldn't think I'm just a kid."Â
She wrinkled her nose as she spoke, laughing quietly.

Owain flicked the oozing muck off his blade, returning it to its scabbard with a spinning flourish as he turned to face the girl with his sparkliest grin.Â
WellâŚfinally someone who appreciates heroic timing!
"Not at all, miss," Owain said, with as much false modesty as he could muster. "Tis the duty of all able bodied champions of light to banish the cold, blackened grip of the-"
She spoke again, the familiar countryâs name on her lips jarring him out of his monologue and rendering him dumb for a moment as he processed the sight before him.Â
"IâŚy-yes I am!" Owain said, feeling an airy sensation of relief filling his stomach like a balloon. "Iâm fromâŚwaitâŚ"Â
He looked the girl over, glancing between her long green hair and the tips of her pointed ears, grin becoming toothier and more painful to hold by the minute.Â
"YouâŚyou must be Miss Nowi!" Henry said, snapping to attention. "A Manakete, right? Iâve been looking all over this blasted town for any sign of the Shepherds!"Â
He could have skipped if skipping was the second least heroic thing imaginable (after vegetarian cooking). And if Henry was with her too, then the rest of Chromâs army couldnât be far behind either.Â
"I-Iâm sorry, but I have so many questions!" Owain said, practically glowing. "But first, have you seen my mother? Is Lissa alright?"
Her eager gaze shuttered slightly. He knew her too. How did everyone know her? Shepherds? Who?
Lissa? Henry's crow?
"I'm sorry." She apologized quickly, giving his hand a small squeeze. "I'm from a different time then Henry." She tried to recall what he had mentioned about their timelines and the fact she hadn't met them in her time yet. "So I don't know if your mother is okay, but Lissa is with Henry, and last I checked she was doing okay. She's such a good girl with delivering my messages." Nowi's grin returned, and she giggled as she spoke fondly about the raven. "She even takes treats from my hand! I've never had anyone so comfortable around me."Â
"But if you're wondering about the others, we could always ask Henry about them! He knows way more than I do about these things. We can ask him about the herders."Â
Her laughter continued for a second as she glanced back up to her savior. "So what should I call you Mister Blade of Justice? It hardly seems fair if everyone knows MY name."

just wanted to draw long hair LOL
One of a Kind? [Closed/Fenris]
Fenris was no stranger to the feeling of being tailed. He had been followed often enough, when he had been on the run. Then, it had always been accompanied by a sick sense of fear and hatred.
There was no Tevinter Imperium to drag him back to here. No Danarius to heap vast riches upon whoever might catch him. Whoever followed him now surely did so out of curiosity, or some other misguided notion. Well, let them look. They would grow bored soon enough, or perhaps grow bold enough to speak.
He went about his morning with that same sensation of being watched prickling at the back of his neck. Perhaps he should say something.
And then, she appeared. He almost took a step back in surprise. Two eyebrows arched up at the blond girlâ elf?â who spoke to him.
He was not sure what to do with the sudden deluge of conversation. He reached out, hesitantly, for the offered sweet roll - he hadnât eaten one yet. Why had she given this to him?
"Thank you," he said, a bit hesitantly. "But⌠whatâs a Manakete?"
He took to offered sweet roll from her and her smile widened, relief easily visible on her face.Â
But then he asked the question that deep in her heart she had worried would be brought up. Every ounce of actual courage deflated from her, her brows furrowing together and her gaze wavered from his face, focusing somewhere around his shoulder.Â
She had screwed up.Â
But...but maybe he didn't know.Â
"Manakete." Nowi repeated, wiping away the shadow of disappointment off her face. "Dragon. We both have the ears." She would have reached up to touch his pointed ears if he hadn't been so tall, so she settled on plucking tiny bits from her sweet roll nervously.Â
"You're not from Ylisse are you?" Her shoulders slumped a little and she shook her head, continuing on quickly. "I was just so happy about finding another Manakete...I didn't even think that you didn't know what you were. Did you lose your dragonstone? Have you never transformed?" She fished her palm sized Peridot-like stone from her belt pouch and showed it palm up to him. "I don't know if mine would work for you, but we could try?"
A cute little manakete for your dash~
I solemnly swear I'm up to no good [Closed/Sirius]
Alright, was THIS Henry's room?Â
He had said Eori, and it had been quite a trip to come out here, so she wasn't leaving until she at least found him.Â
But so far it was four different rooms and no luck. Certainly she had to get it right eventually. There had to be something that would tip her off that it was Henry's room.Â
Nowi scrabbled up the bushes, hefting herself up to peer through the window.Â
Oh! This was it, this was the room! She recognized the few items from the apothecary.Â
It only took a few moments for the little thief to jimmy the window open, and she wiggled her way into the window with a bit of effort. Only to lose her grip and fall the rest of the way.Â
Nowi tumbled into the room with a soft shout of surprise and panic, brushing herself off and peering around. There was no Henry here. And by the state of the other bed, there was no roommate here either.Â
What was she supposed to do until he got back?
The blonde glanced about the room, with the pair of beds, small closet, the desk pushed right up against the wall strewn with parchment and quills.Â
With a small triumphant noise, the little dragon seated herself cross-legged at the desk and set herself to doodling until her friend returned.Â
One of a Kind? [Closed/Fenris]
She had been stalking the man for the better part of the morning.Â
It wasn't as if it was of malicious intent, she clarified to herself as she ducked behind a cart, trying to keep out of his vision. It was just until she could work up the courage to speak to him. Especially if his ears meant he was one of them too. She hadn't seen another Manakete in over six hundred years, and to spot one here of all places was incredibly exciting.Â
And nerve wracking.Â
What if he hated her? What if she made a fool of herself?Â
She glanced down to the sweet rolls in her hands. She had pilfered them twelve stalls back in hopes of using them as an icebreaker to smooth over the fact she had been following him for over an hour.Â
Hi, I'm sorry I've been stalking you, but guess what, I'm a dragon too!
Nowi shook her head with a snort. That wouldn't work. She'd have to be more adult like. After all. He was a Manakete.Â
And in a bout of surprising maturity and confidence, the little manakete slid out from her hiding spot and walked right up to the tall silver haired man. "Um, Hello there."
"It's really amazing to see another Manakete around." Her long ears twitched as she gave a soft laugh and a bright smile up to him. "My name is Nowi, what's yours?"
She hesitated briefly before offering one of the sweet rolls to him. "Would you like one?"

Dragons are ferocious creatures [Closed/Takane]
Takane seemed to be adjusting to the environment of Pyli, it had taken her by surprise to find herself in a strange land, but she was thankful that the people were friendly and hospitable. She was a bit surprised that the other people who didnât belong to this land were just as kind and willing to lend a helping hand, even if she personally hated having to ask for help.Â
As Takane walked aimlessly through the town, she saw a group of children playing down the road, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. It was moments like these that caused Takane to think, for a split second, that she wasnât in a strange foreign land. As if on cue to remind her exactly where she currently was, one of the children transformed into a giant green dragon! Surely that wasnât normal for children here, otherwise Takane had a lot to get used to.Â
However, the children seemed perfectly okay with the sudden appearance of a rather large dragon. Seeing as it must be friendly, Takane slowly started to approach the creature, making sure as to not startle the dragon. When the dragon started speaking, Takane could feel her jaw hit the floor, there were too many things wrong with this scenario.Â
"Hey." She replied slowly, surprised that the dragonâs voice was so light, from all the movies sheâs seen that involved these mythical beasts, their voices were always deep and rough. This one sounded almost childish. "To play?â Now Takane was lost, what she assumed was a child, turned into a dragon just to play.Â
Apparently the children were just fine crawling all over dragonâs belly, so Takane had no qualms letting the dragon have what it wanted. âI guess I could play. Havenât played those games since elementary school though.âÂ
If Takane ever made it back to her friends on Earth, she would have stories to tell when she got back.Â
Finally! Someone was suprised by her being a dragon! It only took several days to actually get the response from people. Nowi giggled, the sound chuffing from her dragon throat. "Yes to play." She tried to mimic the woman's inflection and she shifted, her tail once more thumping over the ground and nearly knocking several of the children who wern't currently climbing on her over.
"You will?" The squeal was giddy and the gold and emerald scaled beast practically wiggled for joy. "Yay! Oh! This is wonderful!"
Nowi leveled her serpentine head at the woman. Her bright eyes widened for a moment, before the grin curled along her snout and she reached out with a claw to give the woman the lightest shove imaginable.
"Tag, you're it."Â
It was like a cue and the ten children squealed in delight and scattered.
The manakete giggled, flopping over before she hefted her bulk onto her slender legs and scampered away as fast as her sinewy body could take her (flying would be obviously cheating).
Heroes Don't Need Plans |Pyli Event Open|
Owainâs attention was immediately drawn to the girlâ diminutive size, her pointed ears, and the strange color of her hair that reminded him of an entirely too serious for her own good friend of his.Almost as if-
Before he could comment on it, a pair of groans drew his attention toward the edge of the maze. Another pair of Risen (or whatever idiotic term the locals used for them) had clawed their way out of the maze and began their lumbering, dragging steps towards them. He threw an arm out in front of the girl, the other hand pulling Killing Edge from itâs sheath and leveling it at the monsters in front of them.Â
"Worry not, young miss," Owain chuckled. "Your night of terror is at an end! I bring the warm sun of justice to banish the evil of this cursed maze and break the foul magical taint of this land!"
"As for you," Owain said, addressing the corpses. "I say only that your time on this earth is at an end! Whatever wicked sorcery has disturbed your slumber, know that soon you willâŚyou willâŚ"
Owain sighed as he realized that the monsters would reach him long before he finished his heroic proclamation. Scooping the girl up with one arm, he shuffled across the clearing, increasing the distance between him and the corpses and giving him more time to finish his speech properly.Â
"Now where was IâŚ" Owain said, clearing his throat and raising his weapon at the Risen again. "Oh rightâŚahemâŚyou will soon slumber in so many pieces that nary so much as a hair of yours will rise again! Flee if some shred of self-preservation remains to youâŚotherwiseâŚ"
The edge of his blade glowed a milky white moonlight as Owain took aim at the soon to be disjointed creatures.Â
âPick a god and pray!â
With that, he lunged forward, blade swinging across in a wide arc as he rushed past. There was a momentâs silence as both Owain and the Risen froze in a moment he thought must look terribly impressive before a pair of dull thunks behind him told him his sword had cut true.Â
"And the world is a little bit safer," Owain chuckled turning around to face the girl with a beaming grin. "Lucky for you that Ylisseâs Blade of Justice was here to put these brutes to the sword!"
Nowi could barely respond to his words, and any scream of terror that was going to be shouted quickly turned into a startled squeak as she was picked up and deposited a safe distance from the corpses.Â
Then he turned and the blade flashed in the moonlight and he cut them down in a single stroke. The pair of them fell where they had stood, neither having lain a finger on him.
She had never seen anything like it in her thousand years.Â
Her eyes were bright as she stared up at him in sheer awe as he turned back to her, her cheeks flushing. Â
"Ohmygosh! That was amazing! You are amazing! You are so amazing!" She clapped her gloved hands together in front of her mouth, bouncing on her toes. Her hunger was completely forgotten in the presence of her knight in (not-so) shining armor. Where had he been when she had been running across the sands back in...
"Ylisse?" She echoed for a moment, snapping herself out of her reverie. "You're from Ylisse too? Are you one of Henry's friends? Did I find you first?" The questions came out rapid fire and she rushed to him, catching the hand that wasn't holding his sword in both of his as her excitement increased tenfold. "I am the best at hid and seek! I knew it! Oh Naga! This is so AWESOME!"
Still Learning [Arya]
Ňá´Ę á´ É´á´á´ ÉŞá´á´Â member, Arya is noticeably absent most of her time from the guild â which, the very nature of the guild into consideration, may just as well as may not work to her favour. Most newer recruits do as suggested: they reveal themselves for the appropriate training congruent to becoming a skilled thief; or they do not, when necessary for a dayâs lesson in the art of being inconspicuous. Old habit has proved to die hard where she is personally concerned, however, or else she is simply too stubborn to adhere to any true routine, for she yet comes and goes as she pleases, finding better company in her own than in any comrades within the group.
Still, despite her age, she is wise enough to know nothing can be gained from nothing, and - thus - she remains required to return to the thievesâ guild at least every once in a while. Whether of her own accord or as prompted by a discreet summons.
Today sees the former sort of return. No senior member had whispered in the right ears to ensure a message of summons has reached her amidst all the noise of the capital: quite willingly has she slipped inside the guildâs walls to practise her handiwork with knives. She is no disaster with shorter blades (she knows where the heart is, after all, and knows drawing a line âcross the neck will stop a manâs breath), but she knows her particular strengths lies instead in the handling of needle-like blades â hence her stepping into the practise hall not long after a seniorâs departure from it.
Though the meeting within is purely coincidental.
As first meetings go, sheâs certainly had worse. A stray dagger clatters across the floor near enough the moment she sets foot into the sizeable hall, but she hardly blinks; the point stops just short of her foot, even if she hadnât gracefully turned her body from the apparent imminent danger the split second before. Her stance is thus held for a second longer before she allows herself to relax and lower her guard, after which she lifts her gaze to the obvious offender.
"You didnât get me. No." She starts slowly, somewhat taken aback by the otherâs appearance now that she looks at her. That she hadnât seen this one before is no surprise in itself, but it seems to her that the guild has attracted somebody even younger than her into its ranks. "Youâll have to improve your aim, if you were hoping to."
Nowi couldn't help but blink as she caught a good look at the guildmate she almost (in her mind) killed. She was nothing but a slip of a girl, about her own size and weight and just the idea of her being in this place just made the little manakete's heart ache in her chest. Children were supposed to grow up carefree. Not in the clutches of a organization like this. Her gold brows furrowed very briefly before it was gone and a bright smile of relief replaced it at the girl's words.
"Oh good, here I was scared I may have killed someone and only on my third day here." She padded forward, collecting her dagger from the floor and slipping it back into the sheath in her boot. Nowi glanced up at the girl, wide violet eyes searching for a moment before her grin widened. "But I've been trying to improve my aim, that's why I've been here for hours. Though it just seems to get worse the longer I'm here."Â
She pursed her lips and blew a soft raspberry of frustration, getting out of the girl's personal space. "Balance is easy. Turning myself into a pretzel is easy. Heck, even dragons are easy. Throwing daggers, not so much."
She wrinkled her nose as she glanced back to the shredded wreckage of one of the previous targets, laughing quietly. "Are you here to practice too? Do you have any pointers for a sad little manakete? The other lady wasn't very helpful other than-" Nowi puffed up a little, pulling her best impression of the woman. "Do it again."
The girl deflated, shaking her head. "Even as old as I am, things like this are real hard to figure out on your own."
It took a beat for Nowi to realize she had been rambling and a gloved hand was thrust out to the other girl, and the smile on the blonde's face widened. "I'm Nowi."
