I’m working on a project. And it’s always better to work when there aren’t people around. During the week it’s too loud. What about you?

Oh wow, that’s a mouthful of stuff. You really made it, didn’t you? [he shakes his head with a laugh] Not that I ever thought you wouldn’t, you’ve got the power and brains to do it. What I’ve done really isn’t half as great as your career—I’m starting to get recognized as a comedian the past couple years. I get booked for a couple shows and I really enjoy that, even if it’s a small room. And in between that I’ve been in some theater plays in LA… That’s where I live now—I moved there with Penny.

I don’t know, if I did, but I sure tried to. [she smiled at the ground and then looked back at the boy] Thank you, Owen. Of course it is great! You’re doing what you love and people appreciate it, how can something like that not be great? So...can I get an autograph? [Payton winked and a wide smile appeared on her face] Penny? Like Penny Wayne? QESE’s Penny?

Good to know… How are you? I’ve seen Liv not too long ago, but she never really spilled much about what was going on in your life, so…

I'm fine. Right now I’m having something like a small vacation, needed one, really. Well surprisingly after high school I changed the direction and just quit acting and dancing. I graduated medical school and spend the last few years as a doctor in the program MSF . It’s an international humanitarian-aid organization, which includes projects in war-torn regions and developing countries facing endemic diseases. And I’m actually blabbering a lot, right now. Sorry. And how are you?

“But of course you recognize me, right? I mean, I’m pretty sure we went to school with all of these people.”

I see you every Christmas, would be hard not to.

I don’t forget people I’ve dated, Owen...

Thinking he was all on his own, Owen was silently singing along with the Beyoncé song playing on the radio. Normally, he would laugh it off, but this Valentine’s Day he couldn’t help but feel blue, so the lyrics struck him even more. “All the single ladies… Now put your hands up.”

Payton was heading to her room as she heard someone singing. She wouldn’t pay much attention to it any other day, but it was a boy’s voice and he was singing an unusual song. She knocked on the door and without waiting for permission, opened it. It was Owen...looking like he wasn’t having the time of his life. “Can I come in?” Payton asked, standing at the door and smiling softly.

“Interesting… And what may that be?”

I have no idea, I was bluffing.

Ah, it feels good walking the hallway of my beloved QESA again.

FINDING IT HARD TO IGNORE THE ANNOYANCE IN HER FRIEND’S VOICE, flora shook her head. “payton, have i done something wrong ?” she asked, shaking her head softly. “oh nonsense, i am assured there are plenty of boys who’d love to get to know you better.” she said. ❞

For an actress, Payton sure as hell wasn’t a good actress. She gave her friend the widest smile she had and laughed softly “What? No! Why would you say that?” the girl asked, shooking her head. “Maybe they got lost....cause I can’t seem to find even one.”

SHAKING HER HEAD, flora looked down, hiding her smile. “daniel and i–we have history. i guess it maybe was… just… inevitable.” she said, shaking her head still. “he was my first love… i have a feeling he is also meant to be my last.” she shrugged. “don’t tell me there isn’t a boy you like ? i mean you’re a catch, payt.”. ❞

“I’m not a big believer at this whole “first-last love” thing, but if you’re happy, I’m happy.” Payton sighed at her last words. Like it was very easy to hide her annoyance right now. Her best friend and the guy Payton likes, or liked...riding off into the sunset. Amazing. Perfect. “A boy that I like...no. I can’t think of anyone. And after all I can like every single person here, but the point is if someone likes me. And there isn’t anyone.”

“BEING?”, flora asked with a smirk, raising a brow. ❞

I don’t know. You tell me...how the hell you have another boyfriend and I’m still single?

 [runs after him, throwing balloons filled with water] Come on! Be a man and fight!

“I have tissues…”

“I’m sorry. Women just have serious issues without anyone seeing why. Maybe you can talk to her?”
