Halcyon: An Answered Prayer

I am told countless times that you and I are nothing more than friends, I’ve been zoned in as your friend. Society dictates that I stop what I am doing now and I am sure you feel the same way. What they don’t understand and probably you don’t too, is that I am most happy doing these things for you and it doesn’t matter if it’s making me look degraded. All I care about is to be able to do this for you, to see your eyes light up, like the galaxy, to see your smile that you rarely give to anyone, unless they were deemed worthy of it. 

And You should be afraid of that love, for her to even try despite all of the demons that hold her back means so much, be afraid to lose that love.

Hold her until she understands whether it’s these days she feels awful and unworthy of your love or the days she glows with confidence knowing she is loved, she’s the most beautiful thing you’ve come to know.

Empower her, support her every cause she chooses to engage herself in. Show her she’s capable of greater things, that she deserves to be loved in all of her glory.

Show her that her past loves who broke her and the demons they left are nothing, that she still burns bright like the sun, that they didn’t deserve to have even a minute of her time.
