I got my mother’s insanity and her trust issues and my father’s temper and his secretive ways. They never were the most stable people. Imagine what I’m like when I’m the two of them together as one person.

I found her most beautiful not when she was all fancied up, but when she wasn’t. When she was lying on the carpet, her hair all a mess, laughing about something that happened. When she wasn’t trying to impress anyone, and had taken down that wall she built for most people. That’s when I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
