Cable Update
So now that I have re-found this blog I started, I feel the need to update. Our "life without cable" experiment lasted for about 1 year. It was mostly a success. Between Netflix and Hulu we did not want for entertainment. However, our internet service provider (ISP) was lousy and we found ourselves back in the clutches of Comcast yet again. Thankfully, we are only paying a fraction of what we had once paid and after a year without any cable we are completely content with the streamlined content offerings.
Life without cable - week 1
I was paying $170 a month to Comcast for cable, phone and internet. My boyfriend and I decided there had to be a better way to spend our money.
We replaced our Comcast internet with AT&T DSL for $25 a month and shut off the Comcast.
We already have cell phones, so losing the phone was no biggie.
We already pay for Netflix and Hulu Plus, so we have options to start with. We have the ability to hook up our computers to the tv, so more options.
I am not sure how this decision will affect our entertainment, but I am looking forward to the extra dollars in our monthly budget.
