tbh,the lists just seem to be a way of labeling people, putting them into nice, neat little boxes for people to cherry-pick or "browse" who they want to follow. you asexual? oh, I only follow bi people, you 36+? no, can't follow you, you only a month old? then you don't get to be on any list. it's supposed to be "inclusive"? but all it does is separate people into groups/cliques. already having issues with "race"? not surprising, it's hard to appropriately label in every category possible.
I understand what you’re saying but I disagree that looking for specific people to follow is a bad thing. People can choose what they label themselves as and the vast majority of these labels are things we express on our blogs anyways, so I don’t think it makes a significant difference.
I know people who struggle to find other trans+ larries, with this hopefully they can. I know people who are uncomfortable following people under 18 because they are so much older, with this hopefully they will be able to look out for that.
I am not trying to label other people, I am merely attempting to give our fandom a method of connecting with each other. If you don’t agree with it that’s fine, you don’t need to submit your blog.
Also, on the topic of being less than a month old, that rule is solely in place to prevent spamming. I am considering lifting it though.
