It is my belief that disappointment utters a type of pain that is arguablly worse than that of saddness. A few minutes ago, i watched the replay of a periscope broadcast that "famous" yogi Kino Macgregor posted. The intent of the broadcast was to do a short guided meditation. I follow Kino on Instagram as well as Periscope, and have often enjoyed her various practices, strength drills, and the ability to watch as she shared her travels from all around the world. Today, while watching her broadcasts' replay, i noticed that someone, that can only be described as a "Periscope Troller", asked the question, "Do they have any niggers up there?", referring to the fact that Kino was in Hong Kong. I assumed she had not seen the question or was simply choosing to ignore it, though a better solution in my opinion would have been to block him from the broadcast altogether. To my utter shock, there must have been a time delay in between when the question was typed and when Kino saw it, becasue not only did she laugh saying that the question was " very funny", she then proceeded to answer the question saying "I have not seen any, but that doesnt mean that they arent any here". I screamed, audibly. I genuinely couldnt believe what i had just seen and heard, so much so that i had to re-watch it a total of three times to make sure i wasnt confused. After watching it, i then rationalized tht in some ways, maybe Kino didnt understand the deeply hurtful nature of what she had just done. I even thought that she may be a bit sleep deprived due to all of her traveling, and grief stricken because of bad health news she'd mention receiving regarding her father, that she just was confused as to what she was answering. But my sister Tiffany allowed me to realize that there arent levels of grief and confusion, saddness or stress that bring racism out in people.
