A/N: This is my first time writing and posting for another actor that isn't Hayden Christensen on this page. I am truly enamoured by this character, and I was surprised to see that there isn't much about him on Tumblr.
Movie: The Island (2005) Sci-fi, action thriller
Working for Tom Lincoln typically went like this, he would unapologetically flirt with you unless he's in one of those foul moods that prompted him to lock himself in his office and only call for you when he needed something. Usually tea and a snack. One could say that you developed a trained eye to tell when he was being genuine or not, he was the type of man that would pretend to be this perfect picture of a gentleman in order to gain something from people, but in reality he had a couple of ugly traits under the mask. The man was selfish and arrogant in many ways, pretty to stare at but nothing you'd want in your life if you didn't want constant chaos served with a headache. Nothing romantic or sexual ever happened between the two, aware of his condition and reputation. You also know he's in some sort of transplant program to save his life when his liver unavoidably shuts down. So you offer polite smiles, easy conversations and do your work as a pretty and competent assistant. At least he pays enough... And sometimes, although rarely, he was an interesting person to converse with.
But even then, your calm demeanor and ability to deal with stressful situations did not stop you from being monumentally shocked when things changed one day. You were organizing the files in your desk when you hear footsteps.
“Mr. Lincoln, how was your meeting— What the hell happened to you?!” Your eyes quickly studied his appearance, grime and tattered clothes like he just came back from a fight. You also notice his companion, both of them stood there with wide eyes, like they truly went through some hardships and couldn't believe they made it there. It springs you into action. “Were you attacked?! We need to call the police and inform this!” You get up from your desk, quickly fussing over them before he gently stops you.
“I am Lincoln Six Echo, Tom Lincoln's insurance policy...” He replied, staring back just as confused as you were when you begin wiping his forehead with a handkerchief. “Is Tom here?”
You let out a stressed sigh.
“You're bleeding and talking nonsense, I wouldn't be surprised if you're concussed.” You look at the woman. “Are you alright sweetheart? You can sit down.”
That's the exact moment when Tom enters the room. You all have a brief pause of bewilderment where you look at each other quietly, processing the freaky fact that your boss is standing right at the door, but you're cleaning blood and grime off his... what was it he said? Insurance policy? Right... So he must have an identical sibling you never heard about.
You blinked, confused and concerned for the people in front of you. It doesn't matter, these two were clearly attacked and in need of help. “Sir, I wasn't aware that you have a twin brother—”
Tom finally opens his mouth to speak, his Scottish accent strong and present. He takes off his glasses, as if the action would help him see better. “I fucking don't?”
Six Echo and Jordan Two-Delta which you learn is a clone of a Calvin Klein model explained everything to the best of their capabilities. You are horrified to learn that Merrick Biotech bioengineers and raises living, breathing, humans for organ harvesting. The wealthy folk who pay for these services are not aware of it and they do not ask questions. As far as they are concerned, Merrick Biotech grows organs fit for recipients on labs, organs that will not reject because it's from their own DNA.
It is truly barbaric, unethical and inhumane! Clones or not, they are clearly alive and well developed. It makes your blood boil. The soulless monsters that work there refer to them as simple agnates. Like they're things instead of humans... Were they human? They were made of real human DNA, organic matter. As far as you are aware they do not have any "synthetic components", but would that make a difference?
They are alive.
You sit there with a permanent frown, watching the two clones as they look around with wonder, drinking hot chocolate, apparently a comfort drink they've never had before.
“My head's about to explode,” you mumble, making the two of them look up with concern. “It means my head hurts, it's not actually gonna— just a figure of speech, I am fine.” You dismiss quickly. Watching them settle back down. “So they tell you in that horrible place, that the world is unhabitable and that you're survivors?”
They nod.
“There is a lottery,” Echo Six explained. “When a resident is called they make it sound like the prize is a spot on The Island... A lie to keep us in our best behavior.” He swallows.
Jordan finishes the story for him, looking down at her mug. “It's a cover story, so nobody wonders why people go missing. When someone wins the lottery what it really means is that they... That they were killed, used for parts.”
“Jesus Christ...” You whispered, rubbing your face.
“I won the lottery,” she adds bitterly. “I was so happy, so trusting... Thinking I would go to a paradise. If it wasn't for Lincoln I wouldn't be here.”
Your throat tightens with empathy. You can't imagine what it's like. “And now they're after you.”
“Yes.” Lincoln nods, he already established that he prefers being called that instead of Echo Six. “It is why we are here. I know that with Tom's help we can tell people the truth.” His eyes widen with hope, and you really try not to shatter his desires by scoffing.
“Tom's help? Tom's?” You repeat, doubt clear on your tone. “This is wild. People won't believe it, I hardly do and you're standing right in front of me, Lincoln.” You say. “People around here are skeptical. They tend to reject what they can't understand.”
“Then we go to the news, make them believe. Show them they can trust us!”
Oh bless his innocent heart. He might've been created with the same genetic material as Tom, but they are clearly not the same.
It's when Tom enters the room once again, ending a secretive phone call. You can't help but feel worry for these people, they hardly know anything of how the real world works, it makes them susceptible and vulnerable. Lincoln has been alive for three years, for fucks sake! Jordan four.
“... A dying man will almost always do anything to survive, Lincoln. Do not trust Tom.” You walk away with their empty mugs, leaving them puzzled by your words.
You cannot help but worry tremendously by the possible outcome. It's the kind of plot you'd expect in a movie, and you are certain someone's going to die. Like the man who initially helped them get here, killed during the day and in a crowded place with no regard of others. It is obvious that whoever is moving the strings does not care about the casualties, and will not stop until he has them under his custody once again. Dead or alive.
After a few moments of both Lincolns speaking they reach an agreement. They will expose the truth about the cloning program and organ harvesting, but Jordan will stay behind under your supervision. It makes you sick with worry. Frankly, you felt more empathy towards Lincoln Six Echo than the original Tom.
Does it make you a horrible person? You don't hate Tom, but you're not sure if you'd miss him if he's gone. You already knew you were working for a dying man, and he's not exactly your friend.
“Come on Jordan, let's go upstairs. Do you like reading?” You asked, giving the men one last look before leaving with her.
Hours later when only one comes back, you knew almost instantly what went down. You felt it in your gut the moment Tom went away with Lincoln. He tried to turn him in.
Jordan was on edge, pointing a gun at him and demanding answers.
“That's not Tom,” you said, locking eyes with Lincoln who's standing there with his palms up.
And you were right. Tom had tried to turn Lincoln in, but they were caught by the mercenaries hired by Dr. Merrick. Men equipped with orders to retrieve or dispose of Lincoln Six Echo and the thrill of a hunt. In the end, Lincoln was smart and put his ID bracelet on Tom who got shot. The outcome was grim but expected.
“I didn't want him to die... But he tried to get me killed,” he retells, shook by the recent events.
You stand there, arms crossed and a pondering expression. You're not happy that your boss is gone, he was an asshole but sometimes had his moments. Tom wasn't a horrible person.
“He was a dying man,” you exhaled. “But to give you life just to take it away for him to live a little bit longer is not right. You're here too, both of you. You're not imitations, genetically you may be the same but you're all different in mind and soul. You have the right for life just as much as someone born of a mother.”
Lincoln gives you a puzzled expression, as does Jordan.
“What is a soul?” He asked.
It makes you smile a little, those two made a lot of questions and it's not wonder. “I'm not sure, everybody has a different interpretation of it. To me it is what makes a person human. It's that shine behind one's eyes, that only exists when living... That gives you the ability to dream. It's consciousness, what's inside your mind, heart and body.”
“I feel like I am real.” Jordan mumbles. “Does it mean we have one too?”
“Yes, of course you do.” You frowned. “You surely do.”
“Do we have a good soul?” Lincoln speaks. The question doesn't surprise you, but it sure warms up your heart.
“Yes, Lincoln. You both do.”
After a few moments of silence, you get them settled in Tom's mansion, well, technically now it belongs to Lincoln. The whole thing is confusing, everything changed in less than 24 hours and a part of you is still convinced that it is some sort of bad dream.
But in hindsight it wasn't that crazy, not with how advanced the world is. Was it that hard to believe that humans were playing God once again? That human greed ruled over morals?
Sleep alluded you that night, it's why you found yourself getting a snack at 3AM. When you're about to go back to your room something caught your eye, someone was in the living room.
Quietly you approach, noticing Lincoln.
It was fascinating how similar he was to Tom, at least visually. But then you'd glance at his eyes and immediately have this feeling that you're with someone entirely different. Because you are. Genetically they're the same, even the sound of their voice is identical and yet... there's this gentleness to Lincoln that you never saw from Tom.
Tom's eyes were lusty most of the time, but Lincoln's are filled with something akin to reverence.
“What are you doing up so late?” You asked softly, sitting next to him but not too close, the last thing you'd want is for Lincoln to feel uncomfortable. God knows he's had enough of that. “Aren't you tired?”
Lincoln offers you a small smile, eyes shining with curiosity and hunger for knowledge.
“I am, but there is so much to see still. Did you know you can type anything on this device and it will give you all sorts of answers?”
“Ah. You have found the internet.” You chuckled softly. There is a long pause where all you can hear are Lincoln's whispered words to himself as he comes up with new questions to type. Only when he addresses you suddenly, you notice yourself staring at him.
“I wanted to thank you.” He begins.
“For what?”
“All that you've done for us of course.”
You shook your head, a bit stunned by his gratitude. “I haven't really done much when you think of it. Besides, this isn't my home so it's not like the hospitality counts.” You joked, however he remains with that soft expression in his eyes.
“Perhaps. But you believed in us when you had every reason to be scared and turn us in.”
“Now why would I do that?” You frowned, turning a bit to face him properly. It takes you a while to notice you're touching his knee. There isn't any malice behind your touch, just comfort and compassion. Unbeknownst to you, you're the first person who truly treated Lincoln and Jordan like human beings. Caring. Full of empathy. “You've been through enough. I want to help as much as I can. I've been thinking of this all night and it feels wrong to say it out loud, but you have the chance to keep Tom's lifestyle. They're technically yours now. All his assets and money. You can put Merrick Biotech behind you, Jordan can do it too.”
Lincoln sighs, looking away for a moment. A part of him wanted to but... it didn't feel right.
“I can't do that,” he admits. “There are more people like us back there, hundreds of innocents who still think there's an island and just... Waiting until they serve their ''purpose'' and get discarded. I need to help them, to get them free.”
You swallowed a lump in your throat, filled with worry and dread.
“You could die.”
He smiles again, trying to be reassuring. “But I have to try.”
You take a deep breath, shifting on the couch. There isn't much that you can do to help. “And then what? If you're successful I mean.”
He considers his options. “I honestly don't know... I've had dreams before, of living on a boat. Maybe I could travel the world in on... Ah, maybe it's too silly.”
“Not at all, I like it.” This time you're the one giving the reassuring smile. “If there is space for a third I wouldn't mind joining you guys. I could be like a tour guide.”
“Have you travelled then world?” Lincoln's eyes widen and for the first time in 24 hours you have to hold back a snort.
“I wish.” You shake your head. “But I'm familiar with how things work, I'm sure you and Jordan are fast learners but until then, I'd like to lend a hand.”
“I would like that.” Lincoln stares into your eyes, practically daydreaming.
And suddenly, you can't help but ask.
“Are Jordan and you...”
He tilts his head a little, the confused expression on his face makes you want to crawl in a hole and hide from embarrassment. “Are we what?”
“You know... A thing. Together. Partners.” You move your hand. “Lovers?” You cringed.
“Like boyfriend and girlfriend?” He asked, hardly familir with the terms. Apparently it's one of the things that were prohibited on the facilities, clones were "programmed" without the desire of sex or companionship, but you can't really go against nature that much. “No. We're friends... I do think she's pretty.” He admits shyly.
“Ah. Of course... She is very pretty, isn't she?” You chuckled.
“You're pretty too.” His words made your heart ache with warmth. So far you've noticed that he is not someone who lies, if anything he innocently vocalizes his thoughts and the idea of Lincoln thinking you're pretty is enough to make you blush. “Were you and Tom together?” He asks you this time.
“No, he was my boss. He was big flirt, drank himself until he blacked out and did many other things that I would never want in a partner.” You rubbed your arms, a small flicker of guilt appearing on your face. “I guess he was a bit of a friend sometimes, rarely but it did happen.”
“I am sorry...”
“Don't be. He wasn't always that nice, a bit handsy sometimes, come to think of it.” You huffed.
“Handsy...?”
You blinked a few times, how to explain it? “His behavior was inappropriate, had a hard time with boundaries and made unsolicited advances.”
“Oh.” Lincoln nods. “Yes, that's rather inappropriate. What a twat.”
“Yes, I agree.” His little insult made you laugh, no doubt he picked it up from the internet. Probably some video. “You should get some rest, it's been a tremendously long day.” You got up on your feet, only stopping when he grabbed your hand. A bit unsure since he's still learning the ropes, but he gently kisses the back of it before letting go.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. For everything.” He said again.
You smiled, heart beating fast and hard after such a tender display of gratitude. “Goodnight, Lincoln.” You touch his cheek. “Go rest.”

Has anybody watched The Island? I've developed a soft spot for Lincoln. Ewan McGregor is a cutie patootie in this thing, makes you feel all maternal and stuff ☝🏻🤓
Happy New Year, y'all! May this new chapter allow you lovely angels to achieve your goals. May it bring new opportunities, more laughter, health and strength— anything your hearts desire, really. Much love!! 🎆🎉✨
Being a reporter and not asking your questions because you're so mesmerized by Hayden. He'd probably sit there with that handsome smile of his, patiently waiting for you to feel comfortable enough to speak. He knows he's an attractive man but your reaction would make him feel somewhat bashful of his looks and perhaps chuckle a bit, he's social enough but not exactly extroverted so both of you would feel a little awkward at this point.
“Are we live?” He'd joke, snapping you out of it. Or, if the interview is about Star Wars he'd probably move his hand like he's about to use a Jedi mind trick on you, making you laugh and feel more at ease. “Whenever you're ready, darling.”
Yesterday I went with a friend to chili's to pre-celebrate and surprise surprise, all of my close friends were there! They gave me different Star Wars related gifts which I loooooved. They even had balloons on my designated chair lmao. There's a pair of new balance shoes that I've been wanting for a while now, and one of the guys bought them for me! I can't with these people, how did I get so lucky in the friendship department? 😭 They did get me a molten chocolate cake and the staff sang HBD to me (which I kinda hoped they wouldn't do bc I do tend to get awkward 😂), but it's all good, I had fun. The people sitting at the next table also started singing, which I thought was adorable. One of my friends took a low quality video and you can hear him singing with a lot of energy which I absolutely adored. It was genuinely such a good day! 🎀
pre!car crash don piper; don makes love to you, not just has sex, and he definitely doesn't fuck you- the word itself is crude, horrific and impious to him. no, you're his love, and he loves you, always choosing positions where he can see your eyes- missionary and cowgirl, when he feels little freaky. he doesn't worship you, 'cause that would be blasphemy- he loves, it all revolves around love. every slow, deep thrust, every raspy moan that escapes your lips, which he catches in a tender, messy kiss, his mustache tickling your skin, every "god" from your mouth makes his hands on your hips tighten; are you calling out to him or to the heavens? is he your god right now? that thought stings, and don lets out a quiet groan, forehead dropping to yours, all sweaty, his cheeks and neck flushed, "don't take his name in vain," don whispers, panting over you. his palm presses down on your lower belly, each time he feels that bulge, buried in you to the hilt, "moan my name. in flesh and blood..." his other hand slides under your back as you arch, and he thrusts forward again, "in soul and body, i'm all yours."

A very sick Hayden gets all cuddly and wants all the affection possible cuz he feels so crappy. Plz and thank you :)
I just read your bio, my birthday is also on Nov 19 !! That's so cool hahaha! Twins 🤞🏻😆 Hope you like it!! Sorry for the wait 🤓
“Alright, you big baby, this is getting ridiculous.” Your tone was light as you stirred up the home-made chicken soup you were cooking. Glancing over your shoulder you can see Hayden dragging his feet towards the fridge, getting himself water. He was in a bit of a mood after you asked him to stay in bed and playfully denied him a kiss. In his last relationships he pushed through everything, being sick was not an excuse to be lazy according to him.
Now though? He learned that he likes being cared for by you. At his big age he still wanted to be pampered and honestly you love to do it, so it was a win win situation.
“I knew this day would come... You don't love me anymore, don't you? What happened to in sickness and in health? I'm dying here, you know! I probably have that last virus they were talking 'bout on the news the other day.” He sighs dramatically. “I'm sure I caught it at the airport. After being apart for an entire week and this is what I get?”
“Alright patient zero,” this time you rolled your eyes. “You have a cold, and we're engaged, so we haven't reached that part of the agreement just yet.”
He gasped— or tried to, the poor man was quite congested and forced to breathe mostly through his mouth. His nose was red, his eyes were glossy and his throat was torturing him, he had it rough. “I've been on this green earth for forty four years, I am confident in my abilities to know when I have...” His words die down when he makes eye contact with his fiancee. “A cold... which I do have now... But I could've had something else!”
“Uh-uh.” You looked at him, amused and unable to hold back as you finally reach for his cheek and squeeze it adoringly. The audacity! “You know what? You do this a lot. Whenever you finish filming something you adopt traits from your character for a couple of weeks.”
“I don't do that,” he frowned, taking a moment to evaluate his own behavior. “Do I?”
“Eh, I'm starting to see a lil bit of Anakin peeking through there. Good thing they were flashbacks scenes and not Vader content.” You grinned. “Although you're starting to breathe like him, are you sure you don't want your nebulizer? I bought more saline solution yesterday.”
“No, I am fine.” Hayden huffed, muttering something about you being mean as he made his way back to bed. After a while you went to check up on him, it doesn't matter that he's an adult and can take care of himself, nobody wants to feel abandoned when they're sick. Your man just happened to have a knack for dramatics, but that's what you get for dating an actor.
“Twenty more minutes and dinner will be ready,” you announce. He's laying in bed, holding the remote control as he tries to find a show to entertain himself.
“Even my own kid abandoned me, she was supposed to come today, it's my weekend.” He sulked.
Shaking your head you touch his forehead, a fond expression adorning your face. “Probably because her old man is sick and neither you or her mom wants to risk spreading it. She'll visit when you're healthy, that way your daughter can continue going to school and won't suffer from a stuffy nose.”
“... Yeah, that too.” He conceded, this time sounding embarrassed. “Twenty minutes you said?”
“Yes.” You sat down next to him, extending your arm for him to sit closer to you. Once he moves, you wrap his torso with your arms, hugging him. “How are you feeling today?” You whispered.
Hayden hums, resting his head against your chest. “Better now that you're here.”
You chuckled. “See? A big baby?”
Hayden shrugs. “It'll be our secret.”
“Sure. Unless TMZ pays me enough... I jest!” You laughed while he sulked.
Kissing his forehead you take the remote control and begin looking for something that both will enjoy, although, you're fairly certain that in five minutes that man will start snoring.
And you weren't wrong.
“Aw, but I'm not done teasing you” you giggled, kissing his cheek.
I haven't been active on here for a while, I mean I'm always lurking but I didn't post much, but I just saw that 600 of you follow this account? That is insane, welcome everyone! I can't fit 600 humans in my house, that's a lot, I appreciate y'all and it makes me happy knowing that people enjoy my silly little fanfics.
Does anybody want a caramel latte? Not my prettiest but it sure tastes good! Haha ☕
Beloved actor Hayden Christensen decided to give social media a go. People were making a fuss over the verified instagram account with a new selfie of his. He even shared a funny—at least by his standards—video on his stories, most likely being taught by someone how to use it. He liked a couple of Star Wars drawings, a few comments, followed an account about pond building for inspiration, he even shared his lightsaber collection and posted the pond he's working on. Things were looking pretty promising...
And then nothing. Radio silence. Like he never even tried.
It was hard to tell if he even kept the app. Most of his fans joked about it, assuming that he deleted it from his phone within the first hour of downloading it. A failed attempt at following modern trends and connecting with his young fans through social media. He most likely got overwhelmed the moment hundreds of users began following him—probably didn't even know how to turn off his notifications!
And just like that, it was like he never made the account, and fans knew better than to expect updates. It was good while it lasted only 57 minutes.
But that didn't bother her... A young woman with a regular job and regular hobbies. Someone who lived a quiet lifestyle and used social media to connect with her friends and family only, maybe scroll down on Pinterest and Tumblr. That's how she got in the habit of tagging Hayden in silly little videos she found throughout the day. She also started sending him weekly updates of her life through direct messages, using his DMs like some sort of diary, it's not like he would read all of that, right? So she vented, wrote about her friends failing her, how she needed better ones but didn't know where to begin. She wrote about her dreams and the things she liked. The last message was an entry of her favorite coffee shop with a couple of recommendatios. She sent Hayden a selfie, holding a latte while smiling, nothing fancy. No exaggerated expressions, no sensual poses. Just a picture you'd send your own parents.
And a few days later, two low quality photos of him at the cafe were posted.
She didn't think much of it, why would she assume that it was thanks to her? It was probably just one of those crazy coincidences that made you think twice and then forget about it.
So the next day she decided to stop there before her shift, like she always did.
The barista offered a friendly smile. “Hey hun, your usual?” It was actually pretty nice to be served by a sweet old man for a change. Nothing wrong with young baristas, they're masters at their craft. But nothing beats an old barista who can serve coffee with his eyes closed.
“You know it!” She grinned, already holding the exact amount of cash in her hand. The barista shook his head.
“Oh, your order was already paid for.”
“What?” She looks up, confused. “Like one of those pay it forward chains?"
“Oh no, not like that,” the barista laughed. “Handsome fella the other day, said his name was Hayden. I swear he looked a lot like that guy that wears the suit and the mask,” he moves his hand dismissively, “plays a villain? Can't breathe on his own?”
“You mean Darth Vader?”
“Yes! Him! Never liked those movies, but my wife loved them...” He reminisces with a fond smile. “Anyhow, said he was a friend of yours and left you a note.” The barista handed it over before turning around to work on the order quickly, not more than three minutes and the latte was in her hand.
She walked outside, her mind spinning. It's not like tall white men with blue eyes are a rarity around, so she was a little skeptical. But even in doubt she opened the note with trembling hands.
“Oh my God,” she whispered to herself. “Holy fuuuu- oh this is real, isn't it?!”
You were right, they do serve the best coffee around here. The table by the window was the best spot and I did in fact see the squirrel steal from the bakery... For the record, you deserve to be surrounded by friends that actually care for your well-being, real friends would never ditch one of their own like they did. Don't let it get to you though, it's their loss.
Would you like to have coffee with me next Friday? I'll be there around 3:00PM, I hope you can make it.
PS: of course I read everything.
Best wishes,
—Hayden
And just like that, she was going to meet with Hayden Christensen, like regular people who knew each other, and frankly, they did. Because she gave him every single piece of information that anybody could need to start a friendship with someone.
What did this mean, though?
She held the note tightly, smiling widely as she walked with newfound energy. None of this felt real, but one thing was undeniable, she would show up next Friday and find out for herself.

Anakin Skywalker comes back from a long and taxing mission, getting to hold his family again. Content: fluff with a hint of angst? alternative universe where he's raising his children with you. Obi-Wan knows of the family and practically behaves like an uncle.
The automatic doors opened with a whoosh as the tired Jedi walks in with confident long strides. Anakin had been on the outer rim for too long, burdened with back to back missions that kept him away from his loving wife and children. The holograms received did nothing to soothe his aching heart, barely a few days after his babies turned four.
“Oh my stars,” he greeted softly, eyes filled with adoration as he finds you and the children, playing on the floor. The little ones quickly begin a chorus of innocent squeals and laughter, their little legs and arms wobbling as they were filled with newfound energy. They're clumsy in their pursuit, something that Anakin likes to playfully blame on you, swearing he's the graceful one— yeah right!
“Daddy!” Luke and Leia shrieked in unison, making their way towards him.
Aching bones or not, Anakin suddenly forgets all about his exhaustion and quickly lifts the twins, alternating an assault of quick kisses between their chubby cheeks, filling the room with their giggles, one of the best sounds in the universe if you ask him. “Ohh, you guys have grown!” He lamented, hugging them tightly. Sometimes Anakin had to remind himself that his children were delicate and that he couldn't squeeze them the way he wanted to.
You wait patiently, watching the heartwarming reunion unfold in front of you, with a smile on your face. “I did not know you would arrive today, we would've prepared you something.”
Anakin offered an apologetic grin, he doesn't struggle to hold his children with one arm, this way he can hug you with his free one. “It was a last minute decision and I wanted to surprise you, my love. Besides, this is all I need,” he kissed your lips tenderly, nearly melting after weeks apart. He rests his forehead against yours, loving every second of this reunion. Together at last. “Mmm. I missed you, all of you... So so much.” Just holding his family was enough for him to feel revitalized again. He felt complete, like he could singlehandedly end wars if he wanted to. “Just hold on a little longer, I have made my decision, once the year is over I'm leaving the order.” He said with a convincing tone.
You simply smile, cupping his cheek. Each time he came back from a long mission he mentioned this, but you know that the man that you love was born to be a Jedi, that he lives for the thrill of a good fight. Domestic Anakin is one of your favorite sides of him, but you wonder if he would truly be happy living a civilian life. Probably not. You don't hold it against him, marrying him wasn't something you did blindly. Being a member of the senate you often interact with the Jedi, which makes it easier to see Anakin when on duty, and although you developed a routine to get away with meeting in private, it was exhausting. On top of that, now that your twins yap more than a protocol droid, it's pretty difficult to keep them from calling their father in public. And it's hard to look away when presented with Luke, that little boy is his spitting image.
The council has its suspicions and they seem to always keep a watchful eye on you both, but curiously enough they've never confronted Anakin about it, probably because things are under control, and Obi-Wan has sworn up and down to keep his former padawan in line. Truth be told, Obi-Wan has quietly done more for the couple than what meets the eye.
Once Anakin settles the children on the floor, they scramble in a hunt for their newest toys, wanting to show their father. In the meantime, Anakin sits on the couch, watching them with a fond smile. He could never get tired of this, his family is the very thing that keeps him sane... As much as possible anyways. It's tough, his heart yearns for both lifestyles, being a father and a Jedi. He's convinced that he can do both, that the Jedi should be allowed to. He knew secrecy was the price to pay in order to get them for now, but oh how his heart hoped to one day roam freely with his family, without the half truth of being their protector.
“Dadda look!” Luke shyly presented a small starfighter toy, another one for his collection.
Anakin pretends to be shocked, as if his mind is blown away by the toy his son waves around. “Whaaat? Another one?! How many starfighters are you planning on owning young man, are you going to fly them all when you're a pilot? Hmm? I bet you will. Just a couple of years and you'll be flying next to me in no time.” He grinned ear to ear, loving how his boy's eyes lit up. The thought of one day piloting with his son truly made his heart tingle with excitement. He already knows he's going to be tremendously proud of his son and his daughter. He can see the best traits of himself and you in them— except for those big meltdowns toddlers inevitable experience, you swear they got those from Ani, and you don't believe him when he tells you that he didn't even cry as a baby. “And what's that over there?” He motions at a helmet, one that Luke quickly gathers to show him, tripping on his way. The boy just giggles, getting up from the floor like nothing happened while you were cringing, those momma instincts begging you to check his knees.
“Uncle Wan gave me it,” he proudly stated in his tiny voice. One quick look and people just know he is a sensible little boy, it's pretty hard not to love him or his sister.
“Oh he did?”
You quickly whispered in Anakin's ear, sitting elegantly on the arm of the couch. “Last month Luke decided that jumping from beds and couches is his new favorite hobby. Remember how I told you that Obi-Wan had to babysit the day that I was summoned to the Senate?” Anakin nods as you speak. “Well, Luke kept doing it because I wasn't around to scold him. Obi-Wan got him a helmet and slapped the Jedi symbol on it.” You laughed at the memory, running a hand through Anakin's not so clean but luscious hair, you make a mental note to wash it for him later, to pamper him real good when the kids fall asleep. “When I got back from the meeting Obi-Wan was sitting in the kitchen, drinking a cup of tea. He looked calm and elegant, but his hair was tousled like he got back from a mission. When I asked him if the kids behaved, all he said was they're Anakin's alright.” You can't help the little giggle that comes out of you. “I wonder if he sometimes regrets getting involved instead of watching from the sidelines.”
Anakin snorts, highly entertained with the mental image you just painted. “Oh he has to be,” he finds himself shaking his head. Anakin is forever grateful to his friend and former master, but he will never not find it funny to know his kids are a bit of a menace. “Well won't you look at uncle Wan, how nice of him,” he said in a mocking tone. “For such a grumpy old man he sure loves to spoil my babies—”
“I FLYING!” The little boy suddenly spoke, climbing the couch to jump. You weren't lying. Nobody even noticed, that's how stealthy he is.
Anakin can't help the grin that adorned his face, using the force to hold Luke midair. You rolled your eyes, after nearly having a heart attack.
“That's exactly why he thinks he can fly now.”
“Who says he can't? Clearly he's flying!” He swayed the giggling toddler who was now making blaster noises. “Alright, alright, it's fun but you gotta be careful, son. No more jumping from high places for you.” As he carefully settles Luke on the floor, little Leia climbs Anakin's legs, sitting on his lap as she holds a tooka plushie, staring at him with big brown adoring eyes. She just disarmed him all over again. “And what do we have here?” He gently pets her hair, allowing Leia to show him her new toy.
“Auntie Soka!”
Anakin's heart warms up at the mention of Ashoka, his former Padawan. One could say she was a learning experience for him as well. “She was here?” He looks up at you.
“She dropped by a week ago,” you explain with an apologetic smile. “I didn't want to upset you when you were off system, but she left you a Holo recording that you can watch. I'm sorry my love, but she said she'll be back.”
“It seems like a lot happened while I wasn't here,” he said. This was the part that he disliked the most about being a Jedi, he simply missed a lot. Nonetheless Anakin smiles when you kiss his cheek.
“Are you alright?” The worry in your eyes just squeezed his heart.
“I am here with my family, I can assure you my love, I'm more than alright.” He brought your hand to his lips, kissing it softly.
Leia who still sits on his lap smiles widely, still hugging her plushie. Feeling something akin to zoomies, the Jedi quickly lifted his babygirl and fetched Luke all of a sudden, squeezing them in a loving embrace once again. He roars, stomping around.
“I am feeling mighty hungry now, like a rancor!” He let them go, giving the toddlers a chance to run.
“Dadda, no!” Once again the house is filled with laughter and squeals. The twins thought they were the fastest beings in the galaxy, when in reality their father could reach them by walking. It is simply adorable.
You watched with a hand over your mouth, muffling the laughter that threatened to emerge from your throat. All of a sudden the "mighty rancor" fixes on you as a target, and you find yourself a part of this game of "survival", getting off of the sofa.
“Wait, not me?! Ugh, Anakin!”
He roars, stomping funny.
The twins gasped in unison, the game very real in their vivid imaginations. “Let her gooo!” Luke cried out, grabbing a toy lightsaber.
At the same time Leia grabbed what seemed like a fishing net, small and to play pretend, but when the stakes were so high she saw it as a gigantic opportunity to capture the beast.
“Leave mommy alone you— you smelly rancooor!” She exclaimed.
“Wha— smelly?” Anakin asked, almost offended before the children made their battle cries, suddenly charging at him. He couldn't help but cackle, the net was over his head somehow, and Luke was hitting his legs with the toy saber. “Ow! Alright, alright, I yield! Mercy! Ow, help me!” He dramatically collapsed on the floor, curling up on the floor.
The twins high-five twice, having missed the first one. Both of them seemed proud of themselves, like they had finished a dangerous mission and actually saved their momma.
“Are you, are you alright milady?” Luke asked, like a heroic Jedi while Leia watched the rancor with suspicion, resting her hands on her hips all sternly like her momma.
“I watching you ugly rancor!” She warns.
You found tremendously humorous how Anakin seemed to huff anytime the little girl said something offensive to him. Well, she's her father's daughter alright! Always taunting their enemies, you just know she will have a sharp tongue and a fast mind.
“Why yes, you two fearless Jedi have saved my life. I am forever grateful.” You grinned, watching the boy's chest inflate with pride.
“'S what we do! I am jedi like my dadda!”
Anakin couldn't help but feel a surge of love and pride for his children, sitting up. “Like father like son and daughter, facing dangers to save their lovely mother—”
“Ahhhh! The rancor can speak! It ate daddy!” Leia shouted, suddenly racing with her brother to hide behind you. You flash a humorous smile as your husband now frantically tries to convince the children that it is really him.
“What?! No, no! It's me! It's dad!” He took off the net, pointing at himself. “I cut a hole in the rancor's belly and got out.”
“Anakin!” You reprimanded, not wanting your precious angels to get that image inside their heads. Anakin scratched his neck bashfully, but the damage was done, the twins were making lightsaber sounds and what one could assume were the gory sounds of a rancor's stomach being cut open.
Your glare could melt ice planets.
“Sorry my love.” Anakin gave you a crooked smile, one of those that made it impossible for you to be angry at him. “Have I told you, you are the most beautiful star in the whole universe?”
“Tsk. You think you're so charming, flirting your way out of trouble!”
“...It works, though,” He said proudly.
Anakin sighs, sitting on the edge of the bed as he dries his hair with a towel. After putting the kids to sleep and telling them exaggerated tales of his last mission, he was able to unwind and take a much needed bath in the company of his beautiful wife.
“You seem serious.” You appear from the kitchen, your face still flushed from the steamy shower. Anakin looks up with a knowing smile, gladly accepting the glass you brought for him.
“Just thinking,” Anakin waits until you're close enough to pull you towards him, now comfortably sitting on his lap. “I missed this...”
“What, a proper bath and good wine?” You tease, making him huff. “I brought it with me when I went to visit my parents, it has to be good.” You watch him try it.
“Yeah it's good,” he chuckles, nuzzling your neck. “But I was talking about this, holding you in my arms,” he kisses your cheek. “Making love to you... All the good things.”
You take a sip of your wine and then swirl it, basking in the comfortable silence.
His soft tone and warmth made you smile, feeling fuzzy inside. This is the Ani that nobody else gets to experience. Tender. Loving. Unguarded. This is the man you fell in love with all those years ago, and the same man you keep falling in love with everyday.
Only when he speaks again you look at him.
“One would think as a general you get used to losing men on the battlefield, but you don't, you just... learn to expect it.”
“Ani...” You never ask about his missions directly because you know he'll talk about them whenever he's ready. Like he is right now.
He smiled at you, but it's the type of smile you give people when you don't want them to feel bad. You could see a flick of sadness behind his eyes and it tugged at your heart. This is never an easy conversation to have, and your brain is trying to come up with something comforting as you set down the glass.
He talks.
“They fought well, I just wish I could have done more for them.” Anakin closes his eyes when you caress his cheek.
“And I don't doubt that you did everything you could. I'm sorry, Ani, if only I could take some of your pain away I would—”
“You do,” he looked at you, his gaze soft and sincere. “Everyday just by being there... It does something to my soul. You and the kiddos are everything to me, and... I am the man that I am because of you, I'm sure.”
You shook your head. “You are the man that you are because of yourself. You've always been a good man, Ani. A damn good Jedi, even if you feel undervalued at times, you stand out because you are your own person. Whatever you achieve is all your own work.” You shift a little so you can delicately rest your forehead against his. There is nothing more intimate than making eye contact this way, without hiding, without distractions. “I may have some influence in you but it's merely that. I know your heart... You didn't need me to be a good man, you were already one.”
Your statement made his throat go dry. Sometimes he felt like an impostor and this was one of those occasions. It wasn't necessarily his fault.
“There is a side of me that isn't as good, I-I'm not perfect, not the way you might think... I've struggled...” His words trail off, but the message is there. He has struggled before and you've seen it.
“Doesn't everybody?” You asked him, trying to get through him with a loving expression. “Those struggles do not dictate who you are, Ani. What you do in the end and what's in your heart does. Those fleeting moments of darkness are just that, temporary. In the end you always do what's right or what you believe in... You have faced plenty of bad people, and none of them resemble you.”
Anakin's lips parted, watching your eyes as his eyes shine with unshed tears. He didn't want to ruin the moment with his emotions, but you had a way to always bring this side of him to the surface. Your reverent touch keeps him focused as you speak again.
“Every decision that you take, you do it seeking the best outcome for others. It is one of the things that I love so much about you, you lack that detached sense of coldness that some Jedi exude. You care about people, not politics, not appearances, people, and that's what makes you special, it's why you're so well liked by civilians and the men that serve under your command. If you can help it you don't leave a man behind, even if it compromises a mission, you value life over accomplishments. Who other than a good man acts like that?” Your thumb rubbed small circles on his cheek. “If anything, struggling is a reminder that you are human, that you need to take care of yourself, too.”
His heart is thundering in his chest now, moved by your raw affection. “You truly believe that much in me, don't you?”
You smile again, wiping a stray tear from his face.
“Yes.” You looked in the direction of the door after picking up the unmistakable sound of small feet approaching. Your kids. “And they do too,” you add as the door opened, two groggy toddlers walking hand in hand, seeking their favorite people.
Anakin chuckles, his spirit lifting as soon as he makes eye contact with his children. “You guys wanna hear another story?”
