wanted to do a little flash-back/past kinda thing of the day Johnny and Lola broke up 🥹🥹 ITS A LITTLE CRINGE

Johnny crawled right through Peanut’s window, startling Peanut awake as he landed on his bed. Johnny’s tears dripped onto his comforter as he sobbed loud enough for Peanut to sit up, fully awake now.

“Jesus Christ, Larry.. she— she broke my heart, man. Jus’ broke it into pieces like nothin’ happened. I’m so fuckin’ stupid!„

Johnny’s body shook with sobs, crawling right beside Peanut in bed and clinging to his shoulders. His short fingernails dug into the cloth of Peanut’s t-shirt.

“Oh god, Larry..„

Johnny coughed, shaking his head repeatedly as if he couldn’t believe it himself (he couldn’t). He couldn’t believe the girl he promised everyone he’d marry would do such a thing like this; just play with his heart and run away with the next scum with a bank account.

“She— jus’ what am I gonna do, Pea? I thought maybe she was jus’ gettin’ better and dat it was a face but no! Snapped my heart in half n’ now she skipped town wit’ dat— dat.. Gordo kid!„

Larry blinked hard, urging the sleep out of his blurry vision; when he finally processed what exactly was happening, he wrapped his arms around Johnny and scoot to sit with his back against the headboard.

"Joder, ¿es esto real? ¿Está pasando de verdad ahora mismo?" he mumbled, keeping his voice low despite knowing Johnny couldn't understand a damn word of Spanish, hands twisting up the leather of his jacket.

He cleared his throat softly, hands sliding up Johnny's back and gripping onto his shoulders, "Johnny.. you gotta calm down.." he tugged the shorter boy away from himself gently, meeting his eyes as he contained, "I can't understand ya, querida.."

When he was only met with more incoherent sobs and Johnny trying to dive back into his chest, he sighed carefully and reached for his glasses on the bedside.

Johnny wanted nothing more that for his best friend to hold him. Peanut’s arms felt soothing around him and he found himself burying his face into his shoulder— trying to savor his musky scent. He could feel Peanut’a gentle hands— kneading and rubbing his back and shoulders as Johnny practically heaved.

“Larry.. Jesus.. —„

“— keep dat up and I I’ll start thinkin’ ya like me or somethin’..„

His thoughts were interrupted once he realized it was over with Lola; he cried all over again. The boy’s words calmed him slightly though he didn’t know what they meant. Probably something good if it was coming from Larry— he thought.

Larry fucking Romano. Jesus. He should be thinking about how he planned to get Lola back, not thinking about his best-friend.

His hands came up to clumsily cup Peanut’s cheeks, startling Peanut with how quick he switched. Peanut was face to face with Johnny now, whose face was stained with a mix of tears and snot, lip quivering.

“Larry.. I jus’..„

He hesitated.

Larry's gentle hold on Johnny got a bit stiffer when he heard the tease, face starting to heat up.

He was still trying to ignore the sudden flush when Johnny grabbed at his face, forcing their eyes to meet yet again, this time with their faces only inches apart, "No puede ser que esto esté pasando ahora mismo… ¿estoy soñando..?" His hands moved to slip under the front of Johnny's jacket and grip carefully at his waist.

Larry thought he was hearing things, maybe even hallucinating. Did Johnny really just ask him to be his boyfriend? like, really really?

wait. no. what was he thinking? what was Johnny thinking? he just got broken up with, he- he just wants a distraction, someone else to hang on. or he just has really poor timing.

He shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut, hands tightening on Johnny momentarily before sliding away and moving up to gently pull Johnny's hands off his cheeks, "No, no… no dices en serio esto…" he held Johnny's hands together, smiling softly through the lens of his glasses and a few loose curls.

"Look, Johnny... you ain't thinkin' straight, alright? i- i mean, Lo's just broke up wit' you, these things take time to process and- and get over.."

Next morning he pulled himself out from Larry’s arms and headed out before the sun rose. Before leaving, a kiss was planted onto Peanut’s forehead, knuckles stroking jaw before pulling his leather jacket over his shoulders and slipping out through the window.

He’d definitely be avoiding Peanut at school that day.
