Interested participants are requested to: ✅ Form a team with a minimum of 5 members possessing bicycles. ✅ Select a village, community, school, park, public space, or neighborhood for implementing a green action. ✅ Start from a designated location and complete a minimum 10 km cycling ride. ✅ Reach the selected community and implement a green action activity. ✅ Return to the starting point by bicycle and conclude the event.

The IGEN Walk555 Challenge was launched on World Earth Day 2026 by the Institution of Green Engineers (IGEN) to promote health and sustainable living. The event was inaugurated by Dr. L. Ramesh, President – IGEN, and graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Senthil.C, Department Head (Community Medicine), A.C.S Medical College & Hospital and Consultant – BE WELL Hospital, Poonamallee.

The challenge encourages participants to achieve 5,55,000 steps in 90 days, fostering discipline, fitness, and environmental awareness. Students, faculty, and global participants actively engaged using digital tracking, creating a strong and motivated community.

The Institution of Green Engineers (IGEN) joints URI CC- IGEN Vibbggyor Green Circle, proudly unveils the first look of IGEN ENERGATHON 2026, a groundbreaking global initiative set to redefine energy action and sustainability dialogue. Aligned with the 56th Earth Day, this edition introduces the world’s first 26-hour nonstop SDG4ENERGY 7-continent climate action marathon under the theme “Energy Without Borders” attempting new World Record.

Bringing together experts, policymakers, academia, industry leaders, and youth from Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, and Antarctica, the marathon will host dedicated continental sessions to address region-specific energy challenges and accelerate solutions for SDG7 and interconnected goals.

The outcomes will be compiled into the IGEN White Paper, delivering actionable global policy recommendations to UN agencies and governments. Continuing its legacy of excellence, IGEN ENERGATHON 2026 aims for global recognition, building on certifications from Asia Book of Records (ABR), World Record Certification Agency (WRCA), and Official World Record (OWR), European Union.
