Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger

in The Nightmare on Elm Street series

It’s easy to dismiss Freddy Krueger as a cartoony character, but Robert Englund’s collective body of work in the 8 (and counting) Nightmare on Elm Street movies is worthy of immense praise. As the brutal and wisecracking Krueger, Englund brings the perfect mix of horror and humor. Sometimes his catch phrases are painful, but its all part of the charm. A pop culture masterpiece, Freddy Krueger is a timeless villain that works well in any decade.

Puppet Master

‘Puppet Master’ (1989) was written by Charles Band. This movie is about old puppets that are brought to life through an old Egyptian spell in order to wreck havoc and revenge against four psychics. This film franchise spawned many sequels. Some of the other characters in these films are Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler, Torch and Six Shooter. Leech Woman’s name is pretty self-explanatory. She hovers over her victims, opens her mouth, and releases leeches onto them. Usually they go inside the victim’s mouths. 

Stephen King Pet Sematary

The story was inspired by actual events experienced by Stephen King that occurred while he was living in Orington, Maine with his family. King recalled that while living there his daughter’s cat was killed in the highway. Much of Ellie Creed’s emotional outburst was taken directly from King’s own grief-stricken daughter. King also remembered that once his youngest son had nearly run into the road while a truck was speeding down it, much like Gage does in film. The character of Judd Crandall was based on the elderly neighbor that lived across the road from King. Also there was an actual pet cemetery in the woods behind the King house, which became the basis for the one in the novel.

Kane Hodder as Jason

in Friday the 13th VII, VIII, IX, and Jason X

Though several men have played the unstoppable machete wielding retard Jason Voorhees in the Friday The 13th series, it’s the portrayal by Kane Hodder that fans of the series love the best. The only man to actually repeat the role, Kane has appeared in 4 consecutive Jason films. Kane’s ability to perform physically demanding roles has resulted in acting jobs in over 30 films, and stuntman work in over 60. Unfortunately, New Line chose someone else to play the part in FREDDY vs. JASON, a move which prompted Hodder to say, “I guess they wanted Jason to look like a skinny little bitch this time.” Hodder always brought a special charm to the character that was evident under the bloodiest of hockey masks.

The Nun (2018) Trivia

The film was shot entirely in Romania. 

Taissa Farmiga, who played Sister Irene in this film, is the younger sister of Vera Farmiga in real life, who played Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring (2013) and The Conjuring 2 (2016). The Demon Nun, played by Bonnie Aarons, also appeared in The Conjuring 2 (2016) and had a brief cameo in Annabelle: Creation (2017). Though the sisters' characters are not at all related to each other, they are both devout Catholics with clairvoyant abilities.

After the "Demon Nun" from The Conjuring 2 (2016) proved to be a popular horror antagonist, a spin-off focusing on the character was green-lit, making her the second character from the franchise to get her own feature after Annabelle (2014). The Crooked Man from Conjuring 2 will be the third in The Crooked Man.

An advertisement for the film was pulled from the video sharing site YouTube, as many users complained that the five second clip featuring a startling jumpscare was "too scary." Administrators thus removed the ad and apologized, claiming that it was not their intention to publish content that may potentially "offend" or "shock" viewers.

Many of the nuns describe feeling the presence of spirits, the seeing of visions, and divination. This actually would never happen because according to traditional Roman Catholic religion, these things do not appear to prayerful individuals such as clergy

Jeepers Creepers Trivia

Gina Philips (Trish) and Justin Long (Darry) were not allowed to meet Jonathan Breck before filming (in order to get a true reaction from them when they actually did see him with his full costume and makeup), nor did they see the BEATNGU truck before the opening scene was shot. When Philips first saw the truck, she said something to the effect of: “Is that the truck? Jeepers, that’s creepy.”

The scene where Trish and Darry witness the Creeper dumping a body down a well by an abandoned church was inspired by the case of Dennis DePue, a former Michigan Property Assessor who murdered his wife and was seen by witnesses near an old school house with a bloody sheet. Two witnesses also recall DePue speeding past them in a van and eventually tailing them and riding their bumper for several miles. The case was also profiled on a 1990 episode of Unsolved Mysteries (1987).
