My mind is a weird place

Everyone keeps talking about Katniss’s reaction to Peeta’s eyelashes but I think my favourite ‘moment of denial’ is when she’s hurt and confused that Peeta hasn’t hugged or kissed her since the Quell announcement as if that’s something she should expect out of her ‘not boyfriend.’ She is SO offended. Not even a hug???

the amount of gaslighting katniss does to herself in catching fire is crazy, like baby wdym you dont love peeta you are yapping about his eyelashes!!

Peeta teased Katniss that when she was sleeping she wasn't scowling, which improved her looks and just made me think of how Peeta watched this girl go from a happy, singing child to a scowling, guarded girl. How he must have wanted to offer her some kind of reprieve from her unhappiness. And once he's given the opportunity, he brings out her smiles and laughter. How much he must love seeing her face light up before returning to its reservations. And then how postwar, he works out her first smile since Prim died, then her first laugh, and brings back the love in her eyes. That eventually they get to the point where when she's with Peeta, she no longer scowls because he softens the hardness of her grief with his bright yellow hope.
