Someone Like You
The Fixx released a new track a day or two ago, and per usual it's pretty fucking amazing.
It goes without saying that I purchased it as soon as I was made aware of it's existence and I suggest you do the same.

Delusion
Having seen some of the responses here and elsewhere to the 2024 Presidential Debate here and elsewhere I can come to no other conclusion that a lot of people are suffering from some delusional condition.
For instance, the idea of Trump being fascist is thrown around a lot, though what's interesting is that the people who make the claim never seem to provide evidence as to why they think so.
That's because they're parroting propaganda because if you look at the policy that comes from either the Democrats or Republicans it doesn't differ all that much.
But the people who are making such claims aren't talking about policy – you know, literally the entire point of politicians – but instead they're talking about feelings and since the Democrats like to call him a fascist, they repeat it.
They're treating politicians as if they were their friends, someone that they'd want to have a cup of coffee with or whatever, as opposed to people in their jobs to enact the will of the American people.
If it weren't already apparent, BOTH parties exhibit fairly fascist tendencies, which makes sense when you take into account that both are run by elites and support a very much corporate agenda, never mind the consistent meddling in the affairs of other nations while whinging about other countries if they even cosplay about doing the same.
Presidential Debate 2024: Conclusion
Based on their debate performance (and records. Let's not forget what they actually do) if you vote for either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris you're a fool.
She's not significantly different in any way that matters and Democrats will continue to either pander or play to fears while Republicans will be more openly hostile to working people.
If you vote for either of these damp squibs, don't complain that things are getting worse because you've given them license to do exactly that.
And it's odd to say that amidst his inane ramblings, Trump occasionally makes solid points.
Such as why haven't the Democrats done more to help the American people? After all, they've occupied the Presidency for about three years now.
It's a valid question.
Presidential Debate 2024 (11)
Kamala Harris defending the Affordable Care Act is the American people being thrown crumbs, which they apparently should be thankful for.
And why isn't either of the moderators asking what happens if you don't need insulin?
Presidential Debate 2024 (10)
Donald Trump is right about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) though I wouldn't trust him to put a Band-Aide on an ouchie, never mind fix health care in the United States.

Presidential Debate 2024 (9)
Watching the 2024 Presidential Debate, if you vote for either of these industrial power tools then you ought to get your head examined.
Kamala Harris is better spoken (though Trump is surprisingly cogent) but just as terrible, just in a slightly different way.
Presidential Debate 2024 (8)
Kamala Harris must be kidding if she think that the average American gives a damn about Camp David.
I follow this stuff and I don't.
Presidential Debate 2024 (7)
Kamala Harris might think it's a bad think to court dictators for favor, like she accuses Trump of, though she has no problem at all at courting them for oil.
Or in an attempt to build a military base in their countries.
Presidential Debate 2024 (6)
It's interesting how David Muir, one of the debate moderators from ABC News, decided to 'move on' from the slaughter happening in Gaza and Rafah after a single question.
That being said, there's a lot that's correct about Trump's approach to Putin in that you're never going to stop a conflict if you don't talk to your opponent.
That being said, Biden couldn't talk to Putin because the United States and NATO engineered the change in Ukraine's government that brought Zelenskyy to power in the first place.
More meddling in places we have no business in.
Presidential Debate 2024 (5)
The way Kamala sucks on the teat of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) is embarrassing.
Clearly the Democrats don't think they need Michigan.
Not that Trump is any better but one grows accustomed to his toady nature.

Presidential Debate 2024 (4)
Apparently Kamala Harris thinks that the conflict in Gaza and Rafah started October 7.
It goes without saying that none of the moderators are going to mention the inconvenient fact that the Israelis equate 'defense' with 'slaughter.'
Presidential Debate 2024 (3)
Kamala Harris actually went at Trump with what I like to call the 'Joe Biden Maneuver' which is an attack on his faculties, which is interesting and insanely short-sighted based on the fairly recent activities of Kamala Harris and the Democrats.

Doesn't Trump look like he's sucking on a really sour candy?
It's not a good look
And Trump is hitting the border hard and focusing on immigrants.
Racist dogwhistles (which Kamala Harris and the Democrats continued by telling immigrants to 'not come here'.'').
Presidential Debate 2024 (1)
Kalmala Harris seemingly doesn't understand that the point of the Congress and the Senate – never mind the Presidency – is to enact the will of the People so it's not our job to vote against anyone EXCLUSIVELY based on her feelings about them.
In other words, if Democrats have such an issue with Trump and the Republicans, PROVIDE A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE.
But that would mean that they'd have to start listening to us, something that they're aren't willing to do.
So they go back to the bogeyman that is Donald Trump because they've become accustomed to people voting on fear, not policy.
The Old Man and Now I See
I used to really like Bernie Sanders.
I liked his policies, I liked his old man I-don't-give-a-fuck energy though I loved how he seemed to stand up for regular working people.
That is, before he sold us out.
Here's a recent email that his offices sent my way and I marked the part that caught my interest.
Is Medicare for All really a 'mainstream' position of the Democratic Party?
Is that why Joe Biden, when he was President, said that he would veto it if the bill came across his desk?
And his reasoning for doing so, essentially that it was expensive, is kinda interesting because it's strange how anything that benefits the American people is always expensive, but it it deals with destruction or Israel's murderous regime the money just rains down.

Paywall
I watch a lot of Progressively-orientated media on YouTube and I've noticed a issue that I have a sneaking feeling is on its way to becoming a problem, namely Progressive programing being locked behind paywalls.
Two examples off the top of my head are shows by Briahana Joy Gray (Bad Faith) and Katie Halper and Aaron Maté (Useful Idiots).
What Joy Gray tends to do with her podcast – and let's be clear it's hers and at the end of the day she can do whatever she wants – is to air partial episodes on YouTube, with the full episodes available via Patreon memberships.
I believe Useful Idiots use a similar system.
Now here's the problem: Information shapes thoughts and thoughts shape action and guess what? Neoliberal news sources are typically 'free,' which is to say in many cases rely on advertising to make money.
As do channels on YouTube that have thousands of followers and let's be clear Bad Faith and Useful Idiots are getting paid (the former has 137 thousand subscribers while the latter has 143 thousand).
How much money that is I cannot definitely say but the question has to be asked that if you're going to put a price on information then the only people will have access to it are those that can afford it, which is exactly the same problem echoed with news sources like The New York Times and many others.
You can't have it both ways and if you choose to put up a paywall around information you're engaging in filtering of a sort that's going to hurt those that could perhaps most use the information.
Relax
There's a benefit to backing Kamala Harris and the Democrats that was hidden before now; namely one doesn't have to ask themselves whether or not, if they were alive when Slavery were the rule of the day or if they were an average German citizen in Nazi Germany, how they would respond.
Because they know exactly what they'd be doing, so relax.
