When Gardenia asked Roark out, he pretty much agreed to without question. It would be his first official trip with Gards sinc their relationship upgrade, and he wanted to make it special somehow. He belongings for the journey were small compared to the usual beach goer but he felt he had an ace up his sleeve to make it just right…

Roark looked out the window, noting the huge Jeep that his girlfriend had hired. He sighed to himself. He was going to drive, if only to make sure that he would actually live through the trip. As his phone beeped he gave it a check…why hadn’t she come to the door?

Ah well, Gards was Gards, and some things never change. He picked up his modest selection of stuff and headed out the front door, giving a wave as he locked up. Quickly strolling down to the car he tapped of the glass;

“Pfft, can’t you come and and great me in person? Come on, say hi!”

Gardenia watched as Roark locked up his place, and smiled when he waved to her. She noted his small bag of belongings and was thankful she sort of over-packed. Her bulging bag seemed to be more welcoming now.

Pursing her lips, she went through a mental checklist of everything she had to pack, really hoping she didn't forget something important at home. The gym leader wanted this trip to go over perfectly, and pave the way for more outings for the new couple. She cycled through the list at least three times, fingers tapping on the wheel, when Roark's knocking on the glass snapped her out of it.

"Hi, Roark," Gardenia chuckled, getting out of the car. She rose on her toes to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. "You can just toss your stuff in the back, and then we'll be ready to go!"

Beach Bums

Gardenia checked over all of her things one last time, hoping she didn't forget anything for this trip to Sandgem Beach. It was a bit late in the summer to take a vacation but she didn't really mind, considering she was breaking her summer beach tradition by taking someone--by taking Roark with her.

Shrugging at the pile of stuff before her, she packed it away and locked up her house. Outside, a rented Jeep waited for her. The Gym Leader hardly ever drove, choosing to walk or bum a ride from a friend, but she needed the car this time. She doubted Roark's bike could get them where they needed to go.

Hopping into the Jeep, Gardenia started the engine and practically murdered the gas pedal with her foot. She zoomed out of the City, through the Forest, and straight into Oreburgh, braking into a stop in front of Roark's house. She rummaged through her bag for her phone and, rather than get out the car, sent him a text.

[Text]: Im outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Her smile clearly says don’t you candice pls me, you should have expected this] I thought if things kept going the way they were I’d have to take up my duties as A Good Friend and start interfering! But aaaanyway—nothing much on this end, either. I’m going to hang out with Maylene soon, but other than that… Hrm.

You and I have got to do the same one of these days! I feel like I haven’t seen any of my friends in forever.

As for us, maybe just a day out at a cafe? Oh no, I have a better idea! I'm planning on going to the beach soon, why don't you come with? We can even invite the others, and make it a Gym leader get-together! What do you think?
