Why?

I do not understand. What right do you have to trash what someone else likes? You don’t.

I get it. You don’t like Rami or the movie he won an Oscar for. Fine. But what are you trying to gain for yourself by wasting time and energy by publicly dismissing Rami or the film?

In case anyone cares, I haven’t been posting much, as I’ve just been busying myself with other things rather than staying on top of the Rami Malek news chain.

I’ve been following Rami’s career since NATM and was hoping and praying for his success and recognition. So, now that he has it, I’m........at a crossroads. 

I’m seeing Rami’s name almost everywhere now...but I’m not always happy as to why.

I’m tired of googling Rami or going on Instagram/Tumblr and 99% of the time it’s photos or a silly article on his “promance”. Often multiple times a week. It’s very little news about his projects. Yes, it is promotional. But, hear me out.

Promotional relationships aren’t a bad thing. It doesn’t mean they don’t like each other. They probably do. But you’re blind if you don’t see how this relationship is benefiting one more than the other. She’s getting her name out there and I’m sure Rami is having his fun too. 

Celebrities end up in fake relationships all the time, for many reasons. Usually it’s just good old-fashioned, cynical ambition. Sometimes it’s because they are represented by the same PR firm and they “look” good together. They’ll hold hands for the papparazzi but then just as quickly tear apart from each other. Then there are “bearding” promances, where one person in the relationship conceals the true sexuality of the other in order to maintain their desirability in the industry, even with today’s more lenient views on same sex relationships. 

PR relationships may or may not have trailed off in the social media age. Celebs are spotted together more often then not because they have agents, publicists or record labels in common. It’s part of the play to post pictures of them together online and let the Internet decided “Are they or aren’t they?” Again, it keeps their name in headlines. When relationships are engineered, they are handled with such careful finesse that no suspicion ever arises. 

Most actors and signers gravitate towards each other simply because it’s easier that way. The schedules and lifestyles they are held up to are extremely taxing and best understood by someone under the same pressure. There is also a small worry of a normal civilian being in it for the wrong reasons. What better way to protect your assets than to be with someone who has assets to protect themselves? 

While we can’t prove anyone in the business got together solely for business reasons, at the same time we can’t deny that many of them (or at least one of them) leave the relationship having been better than before.

Maybe it’s because he’s now A-list or maybe not. Think what you will of this “promance”, but all I know is that his previous relationships were never this public, nor ever struck me with red flags.
