I found a whole nursery of them, mostly Victorian, gathered on an old hoop earring at the Intergem Show in San Mateo. School Ties 🏤 Honor society patches, legacy pins, class rings, and Greek crests help to shrink that big campus/ alumni feel, further identifying us with a particular "tribe." We met Erin at Grand Lake Kitchen and around her neck, hung some collegiate history! Glinting in the warm autumn sun, was an heirloom mother-of-pearl book locket with a gold lion crest, a token of Greek life from grandmother's days at Rider University. Upon a quick Google images search, the closest crest I could find is Phi Mu with its two lions. I would have asked which sorority Erin's mee-Ma was in, but she was in the midst of a busy brunch shift and my cucumber salad was getting warm.
