The Gathering for Justice

The Gathering for Justice is a social justice organization founded by Harry Belafonte in 2005. The Gathering’s newest initiative, Justice League NYC, is a task force of youth justice activists, advocates and artists who have joined forces to contribute to awakening our moral and community conscious on issues negatively impacting society. Justice League NYC has begun a multi-stage mobilization engaging communities in New York's boroughs around the issue of juvenile justice reform. Justice League NYC is currently building a three-day Juvenile Justice Conference that will include a diverse and comprehensive slate of programs, panels, workshops, leadership seminars, think-tank gatherings, and arts and entertainment offerings, all focused on the urgent state of New York’s Juvenile Justice system. The Conference, entitled Growing Up Locked Down (GULD) will take place at The New School’s Tishman Auditorium from Wednesday, September 24th through Friday, September 26th 2014.
